I personally liked this holiday-themed slasher film. What is your personal opinion on this film?

I saw it on TV. There was nothing else on. That's the only reason I saw it. I wouldn't have paid money to see it. If anything else had been on TV, I would have changed the channel. But... it WAS entertainment.

i thought it was good, but lacked gore and T and A

It had Denise Richards in it. That in itself was enough T & A for me. I liked plot though it's quite similar to Carrie.

A subpar slasher. David Boreanoz was pretty good, and it reminded me of the slashers of the '80's. But it was nothing new, and the twist at the end wasn't that surprising. Passable entertainment, but I wouldn't watch it for a second time.

The director decided to cut out the gore, and add a few other scenes he wanted. The most cut scene is Richards death scene. It's supposed to be much more brutal.

There is a petition going around to get it uncut at http://www.webpetitions.com/cgi-bin/print_petition.cgi?2624642991

This movie was garbrage, it was boring, slasher films just don't scare anymore.

VALENTINE? A "slasher film"? Someone must know something that I don't... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/confused.gif

I know that this is going against what most people say, but I love Valentine. I think it's one of the best slasher movies ever. Valentine is basically an 80s slasher with a few modern touchups. I'm suprised more people don't like this film. I've heard people complain how much they hate recent slashers(Scream, I Know etc.) and they call Valentine just another teeny bopper slasher. Well VALENTINE ISN'T JUST ANOTHER TEENY SLASHER!!!! I find it difficult to compare it to Scream because it barely has anything in common with Scream or any of it's clones. No in jokes, no self referential humor, no teens and no killer monologue at the end. It's the perfect slasher movie as far as I'm concerned. Sure it's not original, but how many slashers are?

Valentine
A (9/10) ****

I loved it too, heres my review from my website: VALENTINE (2001)
starring: Jessica Capshaw, Marley Shelton, Denise Richards, Jessica Cauffiel, and Katherine Heigle.

plot: In 1988, Jeremy Melton asks four girls to dance, but they all turn him down. Then, he asks a chubby girl named Dorothy to dance, but they end up making out, then the girl tells bullies that he attacked her so he gets beat up and sent to reform school. 13 years later, Shelley (Katherine Heigle) is murdered. The other four girls: Dorothy (Jessica Capshaw), Kate (Marley Shelton), Page (Denise Richards), and Lily (Jessica Cauffiel) begin to get morbid valentines day cards and one by one they are stalked and killed on valentines day. Could it be Jeremy?

This slasher brings back the 80's and totally changes the rules of the Scream generation. For example, the characters are not teenagers, they are in their 20's. I also like the acting in this. The characters are more developed then usual, and I would say that Jessica Capshaw, Marley Shelton, Denise Richards, and David Boreanaz did the best jobs. The gore is also good, especially Paige's (Denise Richards) death. If there was nudity this would be a perfect 80's like slasher. I am hoping they make a sequel to this.
5/5.

I thought it was scary how whenever he killed someone blood dripped from their nose (I think it was nose.) The ending surprised me too!

I just finished reading the John Savage novel last night.
Believe me, folks, the book is SO MUCH BETTER than the piece of $hit film of the same name. The ONLY thing the 2 have in common is the title(I can't believe the film's credits say "Based on the novel by John Savage").
If only Jamie Blanks had read the novel & based the film more on that, it may have achieved the same classic status as Psycho & The Silence of the Lambs.
The only thing I liked about the film was seeing the eye candy(Marley Shelton, Denise Richards, & Jessica Capshaw).

Whoops, I meant Tom Savage, not John.
Sorry about that.

I love Valentine! I thought this was so much better than Scream, the plot was some-what original, the death scenes were great and I LOVE KATHERINE HEIGL! I give it 9/10

I thought there was a decent amount of gore. Oh, and for die hard T&A fans, at the artists club there are movies playing in the background and they feature nudity (they were shot for this movie).

Valentine was a fun ride and much better than a lot of the shitty teen slashers put out over the past couple of years. I give it a 7/10.

I think it would of been great if Kathrein Heigl was in it a little longer cuz she is soo fuckin hot and atleast let us see her die with a little style we barely got a drop of blood

Triple 6, I agree, Katherine should have been in it the whole running time, what a waste of looks and talent. For shame!
