As I was channel surfing yesterday, I ran across one of my all time favorites, Best In Show. This has to be one of my favorite comedies, by far. The obnoxious yuppie couple, oh man, I know people like them! I think my favorite part is when SPOILER:
Cookie and her hubby are visiting her ex boyfriend. Was that not great, or what?! What's everyone else's thought's on this fab flick?

It is an absolutely hilarious film, definitely the best comedy of the past few years. All the actors in it are geniuses, especially Fred Willard as the dog show commentator. Another good film of the same kind from the same people is Waiting for Guffman.

I haven't seen Waiting For Guffman, but I am going to Blockbuster this morning! Can you tell me what it's about? I was going to rent Unfaithful, Austin Powers 3, The Cat's Meow, and ? What are good, and what should I pass on? Thanks!

Here's the outline for Waiting for Guffman, as I said, it was made by the same people that did Best in Show:
A town of Blaine, Missouri is preparing for celebrations of its 150th anniversary. Corky St.Clair, an off-off-off-off-off-Broadway director is putting together an amateur theater show about the town's history, starring a local dentist, a couple of travel agents, a Dairy Queen waitress, and a car repairman. He invites a Broadway theater critic Mr. Guffman to see the opening night of the show.
I found it very funny but I liked BiS a little better.
As for the other ones:
Unfaithful - a pretty good movie, Diane Lane is extremely good and deserves an Oscar for her work (7/10, maybe 8/10)
Goldmember - funnier than the first AP, not as funny as the second, not terrible though (6/10)
The Cat's Meow - surprisingly good, entertaining fluff (7/10)

I saw Best in Show (7/10) at theatresa because it was from the guys that made Waiting for Guffman (8/10) and I wasn't disappointed. Very funny.

I LOVED "Best in Show." (8/10)
Simply hilarious. I haven't seen "Waiting for Guffman," but I have seen "This Is Spinal Tap," (7/10) and preferred "Best in Show" (as the ratings imply). It's also extremely quotable, a big plus in my book.

Best in Show (8/10) is one of the funniest films I've seen in recent memory. It's ever better if you own a dog.

Best in Show and Waiting for Guffman are two of my all-time favorite comedies. They are subtle, witty and brilliantly executed. They are both much "cleaner" than Spinal Tap, which had long periods of mediocre material along with some really hilarious exploits.
Waiting for Guffman is possibly my favorite, but I never stop marveling over Christopher Guests transformations.

That had me in stitches.

Not as good as Spinal Tap but better than Waiting For Guffman. I give it an 8/10. This movie is so funny. I really like the gay couple. The lesbians aren't bad either!

Great movie Best In Show. Saw this at an open air cinema in Broome (Australia) with actual live lizards crawling all over the screen - classic!!!!!
Got to love any movie with Jim's dad in it - even more so with two left feet!!!
