First off I love gory films with tons of chesse,Dead akive is one of my favorite movies and I like any thing Troma and Full Moon puts out. Well I decied to check out another Peter Jackson film Bad Taste.
BAD TASTE
Im sorry but I didnt not like this movie, as much as I wanted to like I couldnt. It was just beyound stupid. I thought i is funny but its something I would not rent(unfortuntly i did) or see in a theater, its something I would watch on Skinamax if nothing elese was on. The gore was cool but thats all the movie had going for it.

Bad Taste rules! I actually prefer this Peter Jackson splatter epic over Dead Alive.

Bad Taste is not only one of my all-time favorite movies, but one of those movies I always have to show my firends and/or relatvies who've never seen it...
I remember my first time seeing it was at the Fango show in '90 at the Airport Hilton...this gal had it and put it on during a room party and everyone was so into the movie that the party actually slowed down and everyone was watching the movie...this was the same party Jeff Burr showed up to asking what people thought of Chainsaw 3 and was gracious even to those who wanted to smack him upside the head....damn I miss those old Fango shows...anyone go to any of them lately? any good?
sorry, got off topic a bit there...
but Bad Taste is definately on my must see list for the average and above average gorehound and those just looking for something different (in fact, I have the Bad Taste screensaver on my computer now :))

A good, gory fun time. It was wild and sick, and that's why it's fun (and funny). The ending in particular is a riot. Although the acting left something to be desired, and there's barely a plot in sight, this film had enough action, ingenuity, and blood to satisfy my needs. What else to expect from Peter Jackson?

Actually, I too perfer Bad Taste to Dead-Alive. But I liked both. On an off-topic note - I feel really disgusting. I just finished watching Cannibal Holocaust, and as I had already seen half of the film, I didnt think the rest would be so bad. It was a fucking brutal movie, and I honestly feel bad, and disgusting, and,.... I dont know. As I was watching it, I was thinking "this is sick, stop watching" but I just couldnt. Honestly, dont try and be a hard-ass and watch the film, cause it really isnt worth feeling horribly disgusted at yourself for watching it. Ok, im done.

*********SPOILERS*******
I thought Bad Taste was "ok" at best. I did not think the gore was enough. We get a dudes head chopped in half which was great...we get the infamous "bowl" moment. a messed up chase on a cliff (which was fantastic!) but thats all I got out of this one. all the gun play was boring to me. felt more like Rambo than a horroh movie. Of course I saw this after I saw Dead-Alive so maybe that skewed my perception since that one is just downright gore-tastic...over-all i give Bad taste a 5/10

It's not as graphic as Dead Alive, but other aspects of the film appealed to me. I didn't thrive on gore alone. "The Boys" are hilarious and provide for an entertaining pack of characters to focus on. Derek is God. Seldom genre films have me laughing out loud, but seeing Peter Jackson tie a belt around his head to keep his brains from leaking out, make goofy faces as he's slurping down green vomit, and going fucking ballistic with a chainsaw certainly did the trick. Also, the action is tight and incredibly energetic for such a low-budget effort.

See I saw Dead Alive first and I went into veiwing this movie with High exspectations or gore and truly senseless vioklence But all the gun shooting kinda ruined it for me. I think I got the most enjoyment out of the guy with the glasses who's brain kept falling out and..... SPOILERS
