I really liked this movie. I thought it was well made and interesting. My only beef is that the acting was vomit-worthy.:D

Yeah, the acting was really baaaad.
I loved the beginning with the guy falling into pieces and was in for the ride for the strong first half an hour, but then the bad acting and the shallow stock characters bored me to death and the movie lost more and more impact, until I didn't care all that much anymore. The production design was great, the premise was fascinating and the way people died was original, but overall it was a disappointment.

i think the story was really interesting, but the characters/actors didn't do anything for me

I own it on dvd. Not bad, considering it is a Canadian made film.

Acting could indeed have been better but it was a good low-budget movie.
Looking forward to the sequel.

I really enjoyed it, not only for its open-ended story but for the fact that you can make a film that good on a low budget. So what if it was made in Canada, and the acting was a bit hokey? It still spooks you in places. Good night in if you rent it on DVD/video, if you ask me.

I cannot criticise this film too much. I can understand that the acting may raise a few eyebrows and certainly won't be nominated for Oscars. However, I thought the performances of Kazan & Worth were excellent. The script had some mawkish dialogue ("Of course, gamma is X over Y, how could I not see that?")
**SPOILER**
Has anyone noticed that the characters are named after prisons?
*Kazan
*Quentin
*Rennes
*Holloway
*Leaven
*Worth
(The last two aren't prisons, however the two characters of Leaven & Worth only get close to solving the puzzle when acting together = The prison name is Leavenworth)

Im guessing your talking about that horror movie that was on sci-fi 3 years ago? maybe not, but that was cool

I think it was a movie with a great premise, and that's it.
It was probably a few guys sititng in a room, drinking a few beers and then one of them says: Hey woah! Wouldn't it be cool if these people were stuck in a killer cube, and didn't know why? What if they had to figure out a way out... won't spoil, but I think you get what I mean.
Unfortunately the filmmakers believed that the great premise was all they needed to make a great movie. That's why the acting is so underpar; they were expecting the audience to be blown away by the slightly clever idea behind the movie.
I thought it was OK, I just with they would have tried harder to make the dialogue/acting more exciting. Oh well.
5.5/10

Cube is actually one of my favorite movies! I think the plot of the story is very smart and witty. What more could you ask for? It really keeps you glued to your seat through the whole movie. The ending suprised me, but it makes sense.

i liked that the movie didn't explain how they got there and how the place was built. I didn't like it when that cop went mad and tried to kill everyone. Has anyone heard anything about the sequel

@ Tom Horn
No, but how they got there isn't really important. The real issue is how they deal with the here and now. Cube is one of the most complex and intriguing science fiction movies I've seen in a while. True, they don't really "answer" anything, but I liked the sense of mystery that pervaded the film. Perhaps my only real complaint is that it doesn't quite know how to end--the conclusion is satisfying but not really worthy of what went on before. It's still an intelligent, well-crafted thriller. I loved the first part, where the guy gets cut in pieces, that was so cool!
7/10.

I caught this on Sci-Fi a couple years ago. Pretty exciting for the most part, but got a bit boring towards the end. 7/10

*****SPOILERS*****
I love the ending, the way Kazan walks into...infinity is a great ending to a film which can be seen as an allegory for life. Also, Kazan, being an autistic savant, escaping from the Cube would mean that it's still out there, somewhere. (i.e. Who would Kazan tell about spending a couple of days in a mysterious cube in the middle of nowhere. The only person who knows of it's existence is the one nobody believes)
I'll go on with this in more detail later...

Ya i honestly though The Cube was weird, in the sense of the story itself, but overall it was boring. I seen it on Sci-fi 3 years ago it was like a big premiere and they had this lame little game on their website etc lol. Why are people talking about it now? Did they play it again or something?
