Up the Creek - 12:00am

Speaking of thrillers that tanked, Katie Holmes made another bid for big screen stardom with last fall's Abandon, but the results failed to deliver at the box office. Paramount Home Video will release the flick on DVD on March 18th, in both anamorphic widescreen and full screen versions. Each includes English 5.1 Dolby surround tracks, audio commentary by writer and director Stephen Gaghan and cinematographer Matthew Libatique, the "A Look At The Dark Side: The Making Of Abandon" featurette, deleted scenes with optional commentary, and the trailer. Retail is $29.95.

Since I didn't see this in theaters I will be sure to give it a chance on video. I've heard mostly negative things about it but I doubt it can be that bad. It's probably a movie that will be more enjoyable on video. I'd watch Katie Holmes reading a book so there's no doubt I'll give this little thriller/drama a chance. Although I've heard the twist ending compared to the one in Vanilla Sky so I'm hoping it's better than that, I wasn't too fond of the ending to Vanilla Sky.

I'll definitley rent it. Sure, it probably won't be very good, but Katie Holmes comes from my home town (I actually saw her at the movie theater once!;)) and I like to see anything she's in...

Horror Whore, you are incredibly lucky. Did you just see her or did you actually get to talk to her?

I just saw her, she was trying to keep a low profile. It was when I was seeing The Grinch back in Nov. 2000 and she was back in town to be in our town's parade. She was back at the customer service desk talking to the manager of the theater, thats all I saw of her...

That's pretty cool! So, is that one of your favorite trips to the movie theater then?

If you should wonder were Paramount got the inspiration for the Abandon DVD cover art:

I'm in the minority and I really dug this flick. Its a very well made and intriguing drama. Holmes is great.

It is also the first film I have seen that actually shows what University residences really do look like!

Anywho, I hope you 2, Horror and Mike enjoy it!

I'm sure I will enjoy it, I seem to like movies that barely anyone else likes (like "They" for example) :).

That doesn't even look like Katie Holmes on the cover...and this looks like another predictable "suspense" film.
