This is one of the few unreleased DVD's that im really looking forward too. I saw the "workprint" version on the net which i heard was different than the theater one and more creepier than the theater one but either way i dont think it will be much different. I hope that they do release the workprint on the DVD though. Below is a blurb from my website about it

One Hour Photo (8/10)
This film may seem a tad slow. However it feeds off of the great atmosphere and steller acting from "comedy man" Robin Williams. Maybe I just have a fetish for elevator music and department stores. Robin Williams is a creepy Photo Shop guy who hangs pictures of this one family on his wall. He fanatasis about being apart of the family as he is sad and lonely. The film has a Cable Guy type feel but without the comedy, the addition of the eyeball popping scene aided its direction to more of a darker thriller. The acting is great and the slow story is somewhat engaging due to how creepy it is. Great acting and loads of symbolism. The only drawbacks are many questions seem to go unanswered. A lot of scenes don't make any sense or seem to belong and the ending will need an explanation. Its a nice little thriller that doesn't really go overboard in any sense but will grow on you.

Here is the list of features from Amazon.com:
-TV spot(s)
-Writer/director/actor commentary
-Robin Williams on "The Charlie Rose Show"
-Cinemax featurette
-Sundance channel's "Anatomy of a Scene"
-Widescreen anamorphic format

Thank goodness! I missed this in the theaters, and I've been waiting for it to come out. I fear I missed some of the best releases this year, so I'm having to catch up through DVD rentals.

The movie actually did come to the theater I go to, but instead I saw movies like The Rules Of Attraction, The Good Girl, The Ring, and Sweet Home Alabama. I wanted to see it really bad at first but then I kept hearing that the ending is stupid or that it ends like American Psycho so then I kind of lost a little bit of interest. I will see it for sure on video, but it better not be like that godawful piece of crap entitled American Psycho. If it is, I will surely hate it. I was actually going to pre-order the DVD but I think I will just wait and rent it first.

The ending is nothing like "American Psycho", whoever said that is a jackass.

This is one of my favorite movies of the year, and I recommend everyone to see it. It has its flaws but Robin William is superb in it and I think many of you would enjoy it.

If I had to compare it to any movie, I would say it has a little bit of a "Falling Down" quality, but without all the cynicism.

ya American Psycho is more of dark comedy with loads of violence. One Hour Photo does not have any violence, except for one short scene and no comedy i assure you. It has that Cable Guy " I need a friend" type story. The rest is all a psychological thriller.

Overrated mediocre movie posing as 'art' because of limited release.

It's not THAT good, guys! Come on! Just because Williams isn't playing a comedian, and it got a lot of hype with limited release doesn't mean it's more than an average flick.

At least, that's how I feel about it.

Rating: 6/10

Of course there will be alot of people that write it off as a boring, slow, short and a somewhat confusing flick, but others like me find joys in the depth of the film :)

I caught this flick twice at theatres and might consider getting the DVD. It's a good movie, but not one I could watch over and over.

He didn't say that he found it boring, slow, etc... He just said that he thought it was overrated, afterall, he did give it a decent grade of a 6/10 so it's not like he hated it or something.

Just thought that I should bump this thread up because it was the most recent One Hour Photo discussion created, and because the movie's dropping on DVD today. Just curious what you guys who are seeing it for the first on DVD are thinking of it so far. For me personally, this is one of those small films that I really was a advocate for during it's limited release...I mean nowhere near as big an adovocate as I was when Memento came out. Regardless I am looking forward to the release a ton. What did you newcomers think of it?

A dark movie that the late great Stanley Kubrick (I think) would be proud if he was still around. Anyway, I looooved One Hour Photo MUCH MORE versus Insomnia. Insomnia was good as a movie but im referring more to Robin Williams potrayal of a character we normally dont see him do everyday. The pace is slow, but the creepiness of Williams character your just eager what else he will quietly unleash. I'm j ust puzzled on the ending of OHP............................

SPOILER REFERNCE!!!

The family that Williams was obsessing after, why did the wife take back the cheating husband played by Vartan? Or a discussion why Vartan did what he did? The movie just showed them having dinner and fade out that was it? Im curious to hear the directors commentary on that scence...

END OF SPOILER REFENCE,and my rating of OHP 8/10

Why the hell do people say this movies slow?

I've seen it 3 times now and I'm just now finshing up my 4th for the 1st time on the DVD...and this movie just wizzes by.

It's only 96 min. long.....and after the 1st time seeing it....it seems like an hour.

If it was 2 hours long then it would've been slow.

I liked Rules of Attraction more then this movie but I would say this movie has the better DVD that was relesed this Tuesday.

Hey BorderEvilIII-

I just checked the movei out for the 3rd time...Still a great one. But to answer your question, what happened there was that Nina and her son knew about the infidelity. But she didn't bring it up to Will. The marriage was on the border of completely dissolving to begin with, so to bring that up would just be the end. So as far as Will knows before he's caught in the act, that no one knows about it. Hope that helps

Oh Ok, but the wife confronting the husband would have been like the icing on the cake....Oh Well, ty for responding............
