that is the stupidest thing i have heard in a while!!
he should just have his name changed, because JACKASS is synonimous (sp??) w/ being a fuckin dumbass!!

Johnny Knoxville and his Jackass crew have been named in many lawsuits arising from "accidents" as people try to recreate their stunts, but this latest lawsuit is something completely different. A Montana man named Jack Ass is suing Viacom, the media giant that owns MTV and Paramount, for over $10 million on the grounds that the TV show and the subsequent movie has hurt his reputation and defamed his character.

Of course, in typical Jackass fashion, Mr. Jack Ass is representing himself. Jack legally changed his name to Jack Ass in order to raise awareness about the dangers of drunk driving.

Michael Hunt and Richard Smoker were not immediately available for comment.

lets say he had changed his name to JACK ASS after the show JACKASS had been on TV, can the show JACKASS counter sue JACK ASS for the same reason Mr. Ass is suing the show???

I want to change my name to Lorda Tharings and fucking sue PJ and everyone else associated with the books/movies!

Better yet, I should change my name to Jesus Christ to increase peoples' awareness of His Holiness; me! Or become Lucifer Dadevull and threaten to condemn anyone who doesn't give me a big settlement on grounds of the Bible misrepresenting me based on my ACTUAL personality!
