Ok, this is just for fun
I've been thinking recently that a lot of today's actors me of some of the older ones.
For instance...
New -------------- Old
Harrison Ford ---- Humphrey Bogart
Mel Gibson ------- Cary Grant
Tom Hanks -------- James Stewart
Bruce Willis ----- John Wayne
Natalie Portman -- Audrey Hepburn
Susan Sarandon --- Katherine Hepburn
(Note: I'm not saying they're exactly alike, just that they remind me of them.)
What do ya'll think? Any others?

Kate Mulgrew - isn's she Janeway from Voyager? Yeah, she looks exactly like K Hepburn. Not sure about the same talent though.
Yeah, Norton and DeNiro are spawn from the same seed. I think they are both illegitimate children of Brando, though.

Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez both remind me of Martin Sheen. Seriously though - Christian Slater/Jack Nicholson.
And actors who could be the same person? Renee Zellwegger/Joey Lauren Adams.

I agree with the Norton----De Niro thing, and I think Norton is going to be even bigger and better then De Niro. At least I hope so! Norton is the man!

Ironically, DeNiro/Norton and /Brando (yes, that's right, Marlon) are currently shooting a movie together called THE SCORE, right here in Montreal. Whatta combination!

I'm sorry but Christian Slater could is and never will be the actor that Jack Nicholson is. As for Harrison Ford/Bogart, i think thats dead-on, especially since Ford played Bogart's character in the remake of Sabrina.

The only thing Slater and Nicholson share are the wacky eye brows. But Nicholson's are better. Ahahahahahaha

The only thing Christian and Jack have in common is their voices kinda. They do sound a little the same and the eyebrows are alike also. but when it comes to acting Christian couldn't amount to the shit on the bottom of Jack's shoe.

Here's what Entertainment Weekly thought in case you all wanted to know:
Barbra Streisand --------- Judy Garland
Aretha Franklin ---------- Ella Fitzgerald
Edward Norton ------------ Deniro (they didn't write this one down, but i had to add it)
Jack Nicholson ----------- James Cagney
Robert Redford ----------- Clark Gable
Woody Allen -------------- Groucho Marx
Paul Newman -------------- Humphrey Boagart
Harrison Ford ------------ Spencer Tracey
Meryl Streep ------------- Katharine Hepburn
Tom Hanks ---------------- Jimmy Stewart
Jane Fonda --------------- Bette Davis
Julia Roberts ------------ Mary Pickford
Jerry Seinfeld ----------- Milton Berle
Warren Beatty ------------ Cary Grant
Jim Carrey --------------- Charlie Chaplin
Now, as for directors here is what I think.
Paul Thomas Anderson ----- Martin Scorsesse
Martin Campbell ---------- James Cameron
that's all I got. I was thinking of a new spielberg but couldn't find one, and you dare not try to find the new Kubrick. I was wondering what Spike Jonze could be considered... but I guess 'Being John Malkovich' was just so darn original that it cant be compared to anything.

Directors go like this:
Paul Thomas Anderson ----Robert Altman or Martin Scorsese (we'll just have to wait and see)
Spike Jonze ----Luis Bunuel
Doug Liman ----Quentin Tarantino
David Fincher ----Stanley Kubrick (wait a few years and see, also think they both love making dark, violent, satires)
Daniel Myrick and Eduardo Sanchez----George A. Romero
John Singleton ----Spike Lee
John Dahl ----Billy Wilder
and many more I can't think of right now

Well we could call Fincher the Kubrick of today's generation. His films are really edgy and so was Kubrick's in his day and age. Fight Club has been compared to Clockwork Orange on numerous accounts. They love making dark satires. We'll just have to wait and see Fincher's next masterpeice.
I can see Liman sticking to a Tarantino route there was a 'Reservoir Dogs' mention in 'Swingers' and 'Go' is basically the same style as 'Pulp Fiction' both were extremely excellent films. So I can see that Quentin. Once again we'll have to wait and see his next film.

Quentin I don't like some of your director comparisons.
comparing John Singleton to Spike Lee is like comparing ripe apples to ripe apples (or something like that). I think the point of it was to compare old entertainers to new ones. You can't compare two people that are both in their prime.
Same thing with Liman and Tarantino. Tarantino has made 3 films and his latest one came out about the same time as GO. Apples to apples.
I don't know if that made sense but i think you coulda left those two comparisons out.

Well the truth is Scarface, that ripe apples are being influenced (and sometimes ripping off) ripe apples. See Tarantino has only made 3 films and has only been around 8 years, but he has influenced film in the 90's more than any other director. And even Singleton himself said he is heavily influenced by Lee (think Boyz N The Hood, not Shaft) so just because they are both new doesn't mean they shouldn't be compared because they are being influenced even by those who just came before them.
