One of the things I liked about the first one was that you had to kind of figure out what was going on for the first third of the movie.

Is Neo really living in a dream world, are these people lying, what is going on?

I thought that was a really great part of that movie. Now that we don't have to deal with that portion of the story anymore, will there be something missing from this one?

Personally, once they exposed everything and got into the fighting (especially in the subway) I lost a little interest. It was more interesting when there was a bit of mystery involved.

i think therer will be a lot more mystery to it. I mean it isn't just Neo doing fancy stunts, but the idea that they have to free the minds of the people in the matrix, then come back in the real world for the third one and fight the machines. And there will be twists and turns in the plot. So i think they'll stick with the mystery part of the movie.

Don't worry, I'm sure there will lots of more cool surprises. I can't guess what they may be, but that makes it more fun! :)

yeah, aside from the unbelievable action, the story will also go much deeper than part 1...

I think on a general levell, the key issue with the two-in-one structure of the next two Matrix films, is that there is a narrative shift - where the storyline does not dwell on a consistently dark or action-packed level, but they balance all the elements on the complex scale. If they can manage to expand on the multi-layered subplots of the original, boys, we're in luck!

I have not looked at anything from the new movie, and I haven't read anything, so I'm completely spoiler free. I haven't even looked on IMDB to see the casts of the next two...so with that said, I think it would be a great twist, since the Agents had contact with Cypher, they could create an agent in his image.

I read on Corona's Coming Attractions a while ago that while filming was being done in San Francisco/Sydney, Joe Pantoliano was there for a day and filmed a cameo. Not known if it was for Cypher or not, since I'm sure there's more than one person in the world who looks like him

Well, I never saw The Matrix as a mindfuck movie, just a Sci-Fi thriller. So, no, I don't think anything is lost.

I noticed in the trailer that there was no sighting of the new agents... this is a cause for concern.

I've read a script where there was no new agents, but another person in the Matrix who had similar powers to Neo, but I assumed this was false since they released the one sheets with the new agents on them... Perhaps a bit of misdirection on the part of the Wachowski brothers?

Have faith people, have faith!

I'm going to see them one way or another (whether #2 sucks or not, I'm seeing #3). If you guys walk into it with some doubts, you're going to think the movie sucks!

From what I've heard and read - there's going to be car chases, albino agents, and sword fights (I love sword fights!)

Try being a little optimistic!

If I walk into it with doubts, and they turn out to be not true, then I will be pleasantly surprised and love it even more.

If I walk into it believing I'm going to see the best movie of the year and it doesn't live up to the first one, then I will be very dissappointed.

If I walk into it with doubts, and they are there, but there are still things in the movie I like, it won't make me think the movie sucks, just at the point I thought it would be at.

I'd much rather expect it to be a 3/5 movie and have it turn out to be a 4/5, than expect it to be an 5/5 and have it be a 4/5.

noisy_brut:
is neo the one?
he made it out of the subway, what now? are the agents still chasing him or are they done?
should there be an attempt to free everyone's mind?
what about the other people who are free (remember when neo and morpheus come out of the fighting program, they were alerted to the presence of a sentinel by another ship)?
didn't trinity say the oracle told her she'd fall in love with the one? if so, that would make neo the one, unless of course she's only in lust?

there's lot of ways to go, the movies should be just fine!! :) i'll be there opening day!

I've avoiding some spoilers for this film and I'm gonna see this opening day as well, that and part 3. Where somepeople are big fans of the Star Wars trilogys and the new Lord of the rings triolgy I'm a big fan of the (soon-to-be) Matrix Trilolgy. I can't wait for them to come out, its gonna be cool.
