The Landlady- 5/10
Genre- Thriller
Rating: US R/ Can 18A for Strong Violence, Strong Sexual Content and Nudity.
Director- Robert Malenfant
Cast:
Talia Shire .... Melanie Leroy
Jack Coleman (II) .... Patrick Forman
Bruce Weitz .... Pepper McAllen
Melissa Behr .... Liz Reese
Bette Ford .... Justine Welch
Dee Freeman .... Jenny Hagen
Plot:
After viewing her husband cheating, Melanie Leroy decides to kill him for it and get a job as a landlady far away. She's desperate for love and falls head over heels for her tenant Patrick Forman. She will stop at nothing to have him all to herself.
My Thoughts:
There was only one thing wrong with this movie and that little annoyance was the dragging pace. If it were a faster paced thriller it would have gotten a much better mark. The story has been done before but Talia Shire is a delight to watch and it does have many bright moments.
Acting- 5/10
Talia Shire does a very good job but the rest of the cast is sort of ho hum.
Directing- 3/10
Bland and horrible pace.
Gore- 3/10
Stabbing, shootings, leg slicing and blood. Very light.
Nudity- 8/10
We get a nice view of a women's breasts and buns at the opening of the movie and later on the prostitute shows off her breasts in a long sex scene. The ladies get shirtless men.
