Woah, this sounds really fucked up.

Some crazy guy in 1946 terrorised a small town, by killing people at night by shooting them. He wore a flour bag over his head with holes for his eyes and mouth. Jason, anyone? The scariest thing is he was never caught!

A film was also made on the events:
The Town That Dreaded Sundown

Anybody seen the film?

The Town That Dreaded Sundown is supposed to be extremely boring. A shame. The source material is highly intriguing. Not to mention that the title rocks.

The Town that dreaded sundown is more of a crime thriller, but have a nasty scene with a musical instrument that got stuck in my fragile little mind...
The movie is OK , but donīt expect a slasher movie, cause it ainīt

yeah, it's a true story and everything, but it's not as scary as the video box might lead you to believe. It features a guy wearing a sack over his head looking like a fucked up Jason from F13 2 or The Elephant Man. As mentioned prior, the story revolves more around the inept cops trying to solve the case, and there's not much blood at all
