so i made this movie. and i need the perfect music to go along with it.

The movie is about this new age type drug called red candy which looks and tastes like a peppermint but has the potential to make someone insane.

i have some great songs included but i need a few more and would like some input.

SCENE
1. Maggie (our protagonist) is a shy meek girl, i need a song as we are met with her. like we slowly zoom in and i need a song, like a theme song for her loneliness.

2. Maggie is first introduced to 'red candy'. this scene involves her new two friends on either side of her, pressuring her to try this. and what i want is a song that kinda starts off a little small and then gets louder until finally BANG you know? like they're pressuring her and with every comment she wants to try it but she knows that its bad for her and then BAM she falls in and tries it and gets an immediate high of ecstasy. i need a song that is simliar like that.

i need others i suppose, but for now those two scenes. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Try henry Mancini's BABY ELEPHANT WALK.

"Fly" by Nick Drake is a good, quiet song that gives the impression of "flying", I think it'd work for a zoom in.

Don't Leave the Light on Baby by Belle and Sebastian has a smokey, lonely feel to it that could easily be used to convey depression. (Opening lyric "it's been a bloody stupid day")

This one I had a bit of trouble with. I mean...there is Pulp's Like a Friend (slow and then a fast ending)...but that doesn't seem to be right, especially not lyrically.

I really agree with Romero, Baby Elephant Walk is perfect...although it may be too upbeat for the sort of scene that it is (really depends on the tone you use). Very 60s, which may be right.

A darker song (although not lyricless like Romero's) is How to Disappear Completely by Radiohead...the end is more intense than the beginning, and it has intense loneliness throughout...which may be what you're looking for.

Hope I at all helped :)

Comfortably Numb might work for the fsecond scene.

For the first maybe even Love is the Drug by Roxy Music.

personally i love radiohead and if i wanted to the entire soundtrack would be radiohead, but i want diversity. i downloaded the elephant walk one and its perfect for this other scene, but i kinda wanted maybe a beatles-esque type thing. or something like the songs from rushmore or the royal tenenbaums.

i havent listened to the others yet but imma downloading them. hehehe. ack! taking forever.

OOH okay one more other scene...

SCENE

3. So this is the end, there's a voiceover about how Maggie has become insane and doesn't want to live this way. she talks about leaving. leaving the town. leaving the continent. she looks into her reflection and calls herself names like 'weakling' and 'wretched' and she cries. the light flickers, on off, on off, and she disappears.

what i kinda wanted was like some sort of light happy music to maybe make the scene seem a bit ironic or some sort of music that contradicts it.

your help has been so far appreciative and more would be more appreciative. thanks!

I don't know if you want blaringly happy music, or just low-key happiness:

She's Losing It by Belle and Sebastian...may be a bit too ironic, but it's actually about a girl that loses it. It's very upbeat, snapping fingers and a very nice beat.

Blitzkrieg Bop by The Ramones is upbeat....and would be in *very* sharp contrast to such a speech.

Feelin' Groovy by Simon and Garfunkel is also a possibility....the epitome of light and happy.

"Plastic Palace People" by Scott Walker could be a nice one for this type of shot. It's a pretty surreal song about desperation...beautiful tune actually!

It might not fit in with this particular scene...but I'd personally like to see "Comic Strip" (emphasis on TRIP there) by Serge Gainsbourg & Bridgette Bardot being used in a scene involving drug-use. I reckon it would be rather funky!

For the second scene why not try Some Candy Talking by The Jesus & Mary Chain.

Scene 1) Crimson and Clover - Velvet Underground

Scene 2) Baba O'Riley(Teenage waste Land) - The Who OR
Drug Free America - Nofx

Scene 3) Roy Orbison - My little Runaway OR Surrender - Cheap Trick

Watch Trainspotting and listen to the soundtrack songs were used very well in this movie.
