It's not that I don't like DVD sites, I visit at least five of them regularly, but it seems like a lot of DVD reviewers (and may I note that the Shootin' Surgeon is not an example of this, thankfully), just have their standards too high. I mean, I read a review of Dr. No where the reviewer criticized it for having only one commentary track. I mean, it's a bit ignorant to to take points away from a DVD because it has only one commentary. And they seem really spoiled about DVD transfers. I've read reviews of Yojimbo, Sanjuro, and The Third Man saying the transfers were awful, unwatchable, worse than VHS, etc. Well, I own all three, and I see only minor problems with the Yojimbo transfer. The other two are great. I think DVD reviewers should start reviewing DVD's for the common man, the guy who doesn't blow his top over a theatrical trailer not being remastered like the actual film.
