I think Battlefield Earth is a perfect example of reminding us of how key artists are to our entire society. Artists are the people who stand up and create, dispite what all the rest may say. That takes a great deal of courage, wouldn't you say?
Sure it is easy for each of us to sit back and say, ahhhhhh she screwed up, or he should have done .....
However, each should at least be hailed for having the courage to continue to create.
If a movie makes huge amounts in the first week does that mean it is a hit? Most probably. If it doesn't, does that mean it is a failure? NO! There is still Europe, and vidio which can take a movie very far.
But most important of all I believe are two things:
1) That we have artists who are courageous enough to give it their best shot, and entertain us, or at least try to.
2) That each of us does have different opinions about such works.
We will have to see where BE ends up. One thing we know...there is lots of passion regarding it.
