I'm in need of some HARDCORE horror movies, one's that I guess would be a tad more violent, but a lot of fun to watch, but ALSO can be found at a local videostore, and isn't something I would have to dig deep for. I guess an example would be "Sleepaway Camp," (if that's what one would call harcore), or something that's even more violent and gruesome, and isn't embarassed to show it/isn't badly or obviously edited by the MPAA or something like that

maybe go for the cannibal movies?

cannibal ferox, jungle holocaust, cannibal holocaust. if you dont mind real animal killings, i havent seen cannibal holocaust and never plan on it. so i cant give any opinions on it, but i can say that jungle holocaust is what stopped me from ever wanting to see another "real" thing in a horror movie.

Just to be sure, are Cannibal movies zombie flicks? If it its, they sound good, but I'm more slasher film-oriented, and would prefer them. Otherwise, I guess I'll hear out more cannibal flicks.

I'll be getting a hold of a copy of a movie called Subconscious Cruelty that is reputedly full of pretty gruelling, taboo-busting stuff. Check this thread for some info on it...

http://www.joblo.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22157

It got very positive reviews from Fangoria and Creature Corner but it really doesn't sound like it's for the squeamish (or religious...or pregnant...) among us.

Other than that there's a lot of really rough stuff available from Japan.

The "All Night Long" trilogy is supposed to be brutal.

The Guinea Pig movies are supposed to be very shocking (but not very entertaining).

I'm not really into the more misogynistic Japanese movies such as those mentioned above but special mention must go to Ichi The Killer. Yeah...the women get treated rough in the movie but it is very entertaining and unbelievably nasty and violent. You should be able to get an uncut DVD off Ebay for not a whole loada cash.

I'll be back when I think of some other titles.

I've heard of "Dog Soldiers" and "Violent Shit" (and it's sequels). What are they about?

Dog soldiers is about a squad from the army that get ambushed and then pinned down in an old farm house by werewolves (NOLD style) Its a great film but as far as gore goes I would not class this and extreme.

I would not class Jeepeers Creepeers as extreme on the account that there is very little gore in the entire film

BLOODSUCKING FREAKS is certainly a hardcore horror film. But I gotta warn you, if you are easily offended in any way, dont see it. The cannibal flicks previously reccomended are quite extreme also. MANIAC (1980, starring Joe Spinell) is pretty brutal, but easier to watch than the films I already mentioned. The Ilsa movies (ILSA, SHE WOLF OF THE SS; ILSA THE TIGRESS OF SIBERIA; ILSA, THE WICKED WARDEN) are REALLY messed up, just random torture scenes and lots of sex and stuff. Avoid the FACES OF DEATH films, they're 99.9% fake, and to me don't even constitute as entertainment. BURIAL GROUND (Italian zombie flick) has some supremely disturbing shite in it, but it also hits the touchy subject of incest, so be warned.

If you want some serious hardcore I'd say check these out:

*************** MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS *****************

Guts of a Virgin - aka Entrails of a Virgin - A groups of porno film makers are violently killed and or f@cked by a demon.

Guts of a Virgin 2 - aka Guts of a Beauty - A girl is raped and tortured by a gang and returns a demon to get revenge. Highlight is the demon having sex with a women (Where is she going to put all 6 foot of that penis ;) )

Rusted Body: Guts of a Virgin 3 - Holy shit is about all I can say about this twisted flick. A female Yakuza boss tortures a man and his wife to get a code to a shitload of money. Her main weapon is sex and it is some twisted shit. In one scene she lowers both of them into tubs filled with eels and tells them to keep there "holes" closed or the eels will get in.

Island of Perversion - AKA Island of Death - With a tagline of "The lucky ones simply got their brains blown out" how could you go wrong? This is not one for the innocent. Almost two hours of rape, murder, sex, goat f@cking (thats right dude f's a goat).

Antropophagus - AKA - Grim Reaper - A man stranded on a boat turns to cannbalism to survive and decides he likes that diet better. A group of tourists get stranded on the island he lives and the buffet bell rings. This is a rather slow moving movie but you get the infmaous fetus eating scene and the auto-cannabalism scene.

Beyond the Darkness - AKA Blue Holocaust AKA Buried Alive - Another D'Amato "classic" you might feel a little dirty after this one. A taxedermist uses his trade on his dead fiance and brutal kills anyone he gets in his way.

On a side note just about anyting from D'Amato will contain some of the sleaziest sex and violence around.

A few people have mentioned the Violent Shit Series - They would easily fall into the "Hardcore" area. Perosnally I liked Violent Shit 3:Zombie Doom the best.

The Necro Files - This is just an exercise in bad taste, bad acting but when you see the flying baby you'll piss yourself laughing. A group of satan worshipers bring a murder/rapist back from the dead, except now his is a zombie with a 2 foot penis and a bone to pick (sorry bad pun)

Nekromantik - Those crazy Germans. A weird ass tale of a man who has a job cleaning up the mess after auto accidents and the like. Well since he and his woman are necrophiles it's ok when he brings pieces of his work home. Well one day he hits pay dirt and brings a whole body home and the threesome that follows is just to friggin weird, and from there things go down hill for our "hero"

This list should keep you busy for a while.

He didn't ask for just gore, he asked for hardcore horror flicks both of which I consider to be very hardcore.

I thought Dog Soldiers had an amazing amount of gore! It wasn't Lucio Fulci but for a modest budget horror flick, it really coats on the blood.

Another VERY hardcore horror flick is Nekromantik, you can order the DVD but I'm not sure about your local video store.

If you're looking for awesome gore (not torture and gross shit) check these one's out;

From Dusk Till Dawn

From Dusk Till Dawn 3

Faust: Love of the Damned

Thirteen Ghosts

Dead Alive (uncut version)

Bad Taste (uncut version)

Ghosts of Mars

House on Haunted Hill

Slaughter Studios (uncut)

JC's Vampires

Blade

Blade II

Videodrome

Forsaken

I have been told about Aftermath...no plot but an autopsy. then one of the coroners leaves and the other one gets his freak on with the corpse. From mexico. don't really know how to get ahold of it but I can talk to my freind who keeps recomending it if you want or inquire at www.skunkarific.com (the freind of mine does the searching for their hard to find and rare stuff).

DAMN I,Zombie, you beat me to the recommendations!

Sorry to be a traitor, but yes, if you really want hardcore-freaky horror, you gotta go off the U.S. continent. The Asians and the Europeans, not to mention the Mexicans, really know how to screw up your gastrointestinal system.

And so do the Germans. But then again, their food really gives me the sqirts sometimes, too.

Real hardcore horror is almost always the most low-budget of films. For the obvious reasons that their gore is the only real selling point of their movie. It was nice to see Peter Jackson put some professionalism into it though. Not to mention the Dellamorte people.

But still most gut-blowing stuff was low-grade. I think the Japanese are following close behind the Italians in making it more legit.

EVIL DEAD TRAP is the best I've seen in a while.... sure, its TOTALLY derivative of some of our favorites (Evil Dead, Deep Red, a couple of cronenberg movies...!), but its welll worth it.. Definitely one of the badddest slashers I've ever seen.

Good call, another favorite of mine.

******************* SPOILERS ***********************

Also I don't know how I missed these in my orignal post but:

The Guinea Pig Series is some of the most f'ed up stuff I've seen in a movie:

Guinea Pig 4:Mermaid in a Manhole - An artist finds a sick mermaid in the sewers an takes her home. He uses the boils and pus off of her body for paint.

Guinea Pig 3: Flowers of Flesh and Blood - About a mam dressed as a samuri who kidnaps, drugs and then slowly dismembers her. This is probably the most brutal of the Guinea Pig Series. I wont add anything else to it, just go watch it!

Guinea Pig 8: He Never Dies - A man decides to commit suicide after breaking up with his girlfriend, only to find he can't die....
