The NEW horror icon is........

Hey schomes, I was just looking at a few horror sites (eg. a nightmare on elm street, friday the 13th, halloween) well I was just thinking. These guys have been around for a long time, but do you lot think its time for a new horror icon? I mean Freddy, Jason, Michael and such will still be remembered and hey they meant even bring a new Freddy film out in the future (we know new Halloween and Jason films will be made so why not Freddy).

So, I was wondering who could actually be the next to be in the ranks of horror icon. I have actually been working on a new script that is of course horror and it involves a character I have created that might be considered a new horror icon (I sure hope so). I have drawn a picture of him/it as well and so far I got a pretty good storyline for it but for some reason I think it needs development.

But then I went to thinking, have any of the schomes thought of some would-be horror icons? I'm sure you lot have, and in a fun way I thought this could be a good way to show off our creative skills by putting stories of our would-be horror icons. I'll add a picture of my guy later when I can, i've been trying and I will show you lot eventually.

So, have you lot made any? Don't worry I won't be stealing any ideas, I'm just curious as to what's lingering in everyone's mind? Hopefully this will be a fun thread and get everyone involved, showing off their creative story-telling and if they wanted to show their artisic talent as well. (Hopefully they'll be no competion among anyone, hopefully this will turn out to be fun)

The Dr is in...Theres no doubt about it ...its defintly the creeper. I loved the movie and he was so fucking awesome how can u not like him.People say well the ending sucked well i loved it ..i mean the bad guy won what more could u want.i dont know about u guys but i watch theses movies for the blood and guts and the kik ass villain..fuck the heroes. The Wishmaster had it going on but he went to direct video so.the Dr is out...later fellow horror geeks...as the Dr of cycoism i recomend u watch jeeper creepers for ur daily excitment...

Maybe I'm misunderstanding Luke-Abbot's post, but I don't think this should have been moved to the best/worst/all lists board. I don't think he was asking for characters from movies already out there to be listed, but rather for people on this board who have made up their own characters that could potentially become icons if movies were made, to talk about them. I thought it fit better in the general horror talk section.

By the way, if they wouldn't have killed of Captain Howdy, he would definately be a great horror icon.

Gotta agree with Evilxxx :). The Creeper may have what it takes, too. It all depends on how well Jeepers Creepers 2 is received.

Exactly what I was looking for bloodfeaster, I think it was my subject heading that kinda put people off. I'll post my would-be-horror icon soon when I can, got a lot of time on my hands for the moment. And Matt, no hard feelings dude :D

i'll have to agree with the majority and say the creeper...now,when horror icon is put in my head i think many sequels and people always being him for halloween and wearing his shirts and critics giving it horrible reviews etc., so if the creper can be sucessful with them tasks,then he may do it,and i certainly would welcome him as one...hes got the look and such,i always sit around and wonder if any of the creatures/killers from present time will be around in sequels 20 years from now when i take my kids to the movies and such.....

The Djinn from Wishmaster is extremely under-rated. Thats who i think will be the next horror icon.

the djinn is awesome but the movies have been going downhill. he is by far(atleast in the first one) thee most charasmatic villian in any horror movie

well depending on how sucessful darkness falls is $$$ box office cash wise,you just may be right,she surely looks alone could achieve such,but i will have to see the movie myself first off to fully comment on that....also,i am one that believes the djinn could have became a big time horror face and such,but i usually think an icon is always in theaters and such like freddy jason michael....

Well The Djinn from Wishmaster has gone down the crapper due to the poor sequels......Depending on how good Jeepers Creepers 2 is, I think the Creeper has got what it takes.

Jeepers Creepers the creeper for sure. I just dont see the tooth fairy becoming a icon with the first one as idioticly predictable as it was, it just takes more to break outta that slasher mold now a days.

if the same dood came back to play the djinn in the last 2 sequals, i'd agree. with the first 2 only, i'd say he could be. but changing actors ruined what could have been the next great icon.

The Creeper - Jeepers Creepers (As soon as they make 5 of these movies that aren't to bad and people actually like then I think he'll be a horror icon for the ages.)


The Tooth Fairy - Darkness Falls (Haven't seen Darkness Falls yet ... but The Tooth Fairy does look creepy.)


Death - Final Destination (Ok, so Death itself can't be the next horror icon since its not really a person or monster, but Final Destination has a good chance to become a franchise to remember after the awesome parts one and two, lets see what they do with it.)
