It pisses me off so bad. eveytime i see the cut scenes in peoples reviews i pull my hair out. these movies in their original form were so unbelievably bloody and gory until they were cut by the MPAA. Jason 6 and 7 were some of the more entertaining sequels even though they were relatively 'dry' compred to the others. but these movies would have been so mauch better if it wasnt for those bastards.

examples from 6

Jason shoves the broken bottle into the caretaker's neck and he falls to the ground as the camera gets a close up of blood coming out of the bottle

Cort's death had a little more to it in the first print, after he is stabbed in the side of the head, blood begins to shoot out of his head

The wall to wall blood cabin originally had a lot more blood and guts in it, there were shots of livers and hearts running down the walls. It was all thought to graphic to have in the film

examples from 7:

Judys sleeping bag death was cut to absolutely no gire, in the original version Jason hits her against the tree and her body explodes spurting blood and guts from all sides of the bag

Maddy's death which is offscreen in the wide-release version but in original prints a scythe is jammed into her neck and bursts from the other side

Ben's death is much grislier in uncut versions Jason smashes his head into a mushy pulp and blood pours down his face

Eddie's death was cut, in the original version we see his head drop to the floor, in the theatrical version we only hear it

i hope our saviors at anchor bay give us and unrated box set.
that would be heavenly.

Yes,this pisses me off too. But alas,I have been unable to find any copies of these movies uncut. I tried to download it off the net but I couldn't even find a uncut copy on that and traders either want too much money or they want to trade and I have nothing really to trade.

Peace

I own the 8 first chapters and my top three is :

1. F16th part 6 ( more spoof - oriented but still great ! )
2. F13th part 4
3. F13th part 7 ( very underrated this - one I think, Tina is good fighter I think, Jason has suffered a lot with her !! )

As for part 7 being under-rated... I think it's way overrated actually, people are always raving about it as in they're top 3 Friday films.

I just didn't dig the psychic crap. I mean come back from the grave, rip people's arms off, and slay all you want... I just thought that the psychic stuff insulted my intelligence, and some of the other fans as well, for her character to be forgotten after that film.

I really liked #7. I have seen all the Fridays except 4,5, and 6. 7 and 9 are my favorites.

I've seen all the Fridays, and my favourite is Part 4:The Final Chapter. Probably cuz it was the first one I saw. :D

WHat I like about part 7 isnt so much the psycic stuff but the last 25 minutes are some of the best, if not the best, in the series...after the brutal end of part 4 that is. but up untill the big shodown it is rather boring and slow mucg like the entire series...and that is not a rag because I love the entire series very much...

Friday the 13th was the whipping boy for the MPAA in the 80's. for some reason they couldnt get away with anything but films like re-animator, dead alive, and hellraiser were setting new standards in gore, even in an R-rated setting. That bugs me the most because while it being unfair it also takes away from the luster of the series. the entire francise is cool but you have to wonder how it would be written in history if the MPAA wasnt stuck up Jason's ass.

I wish to high HEAVEN that I could at least see Parts 2 and 7 of this series uncut. From what I hear pretty much every death in these two films was cut to avoid the dreaded NC-17 and those fukcheads at Paramount have no intentions of showing us the films the way they were meant to be shown. If only they would at least sell the rights to a company who is willing to put in the effort for decent special features. I definitley would not mind purchasing a uncut box set with interviews much like the NIGHTMARE series. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

What I find really annoying is that even before I found about what was cut from the death scenes, I still felt kind of cheated. Some deaths just are so cut down, you get no realism or emotion out of the victim whatsoever. I know this sounds weird, but if these people are going to die, I want to see emotion/reaction, damn emotion, so it seems real, not just a dummy hitting the ground. They shouldn't have to cut the emotion/reaction shots, even if it's 1-dimensional characters that are being killed off.

I have to agree here. I've read a lot of articles and reviews dealing with the butcher shop that is called MPAA. So much of our beloved horror films are raped and pillaged by these people it's just insane. Most of us will agree on these threads that horror films are an art form that few people recognize as such. So leave the films alone and let us true fan's enjoy them as they were originally intended. :D

Yeah. Part 4- The Final Chapter, is the UNDISPUTED best Friday of them all. I mean Corey Feldman and Crispin Glover?! HOW MUCH BETTER CAN IT GET?! AMAZING!

Besides the original Friday, Part 3 still remains my second fav...it along with 4 it thought came the closest to capturing the feel of the first... And Damn those MPAA butchers to hell!
