*Realistic scenareo

*Well developed characters

*For me at least, they're just entertaining ass movies.

*Great endings

*Always, at least, decent acting

*Seriouse killer(unlike jason and freddy and most others)

*FUCK, THEY'RE ALL JUST GOOD MOVIES!

~Bottom line is that you don't like them and we do. leave it at that. there's really no explanation besides the fact that to some they are entertaining and to some they're not. There's really no explanation to be wasting a thread on talking about this.

oh yes. these movies are a blast, just about as much fun and getting kicked in the face. they are boring, boring and boring, except for part 3 which is great, and i dont care what anyone says.

I like them because each film adds a bit more to the overall Michael Myers mythos.

Part 1 we establish the character and a very skeletal background.

Part 2 we clarify the connection between Laurie and Michael. It answers one series of questions but opens up more.

Part 3 doesn't count.

Part 4 extends the myth and also certifies Michael as a supernatural element. Intros Laurie's daughter.

Part 5 continues the development established in Part 4 and also furthers Michael's mystical aptitudes. (The psychic bond with Jamie for one.)

Part 6 finalizes the sub-plots of the previous two films. We clarify exactly what Michael is and why he can seemingly rise from the dead after being shot six times in the chest by an octegenarian.

Part 7 brings everything full circle (sorta). Well...actually it doesn't. It doesn't accomplish shit except bringing Laurie Strode back.

Can't speak on Part 8. Haven't seen it yet.

But those are some of the reasons why I like it. Not that I expect anyone to agree.

The HALLOWEEN series is the greatest horror series there ever will be!
1-Great Plots
2-Michael Myers is on scary dude
3-Good Characters
4-Cool Deaths
5-Trys to stay true to original roots.
6-Good acting(especially Pleasence and Curtis)
7-GOOD MOVIES!

Okay, I neither particularly like nor dislike the Halloween movies, except the first one was very good.

But, realistic scenarios? I have to disagree completely with that whole phrase. The rest of your comments are debatable, but how can you possibly say realistic scenarios? A human being who won't die, no matter what you do to him? How is that realistic? The whole thing about horror movies is you have to suspend disbelief and just enjoy them for the entertainment they are.

Just my two cents.

I like Mike Myers, and I like all the Halloween movies (except for H2O, and 3.) I actually like the Thorn stuff, and think they should continue with it.

But I can see why alot of people may think these movies are boring. Probably because Myers doesn't have one-liners like Freddy, and the Halloween series still takes itself seriously, unlike Friday the 13th. But Myers, besides Norman Bates, was one of the earliest serial killers to grace the screen, and still one of the best.

Hooray for me.

another reason is because he basically started out the slasher genre, and if you watch recent slashers, then watch halloween you think its just like the others, but it was so original for the time and made horror what it is partly...he boosted the horror genre up big time.hes a leading contributor to horrors sucess and is a VERY recognizable face. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

why is it ok to ask asshole questions like this but i cant say that new horror sucks ass? whats the difference?

if i asked why is scream so great. i would get chewed out, called a snob and another addition to the billion "i'm sick of old horror fans insulting new horror" threads would be made.

why is it now ok to insult old horror?
thats what this thread is, an insult to old horror. can we not be hypocritical here?

In a way you're right Tox. I guess it's all in the way you phrase your question. I'm a big fan of the Scream Trilogy, but I understand that not everybody is. I guess that Creeper just isn't a fan of the Halloween series. You never know, maybe we'll be able to covert him to one of us. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

i just dont understand why we cant say what we want about new horror without there being another "i'm so sick of..." thread added. but now its ok to insult old horror. since i have been told not to insult new horror, i'm gonna say dont insult old horror. cause i can be a real asshole with my opinions if i am pushed to it. and if threads like this keep up, i'm gonna start.

i'm trying to keep peaceful, but when its ok to make threads like this and not ok to say that new horror sucks it becomes a problem.

it goes both ways. dont insult either. i'm fine with that. but i'm not when its ok to insult old horror.

i have said i will be respectful about my opinions on new horror, but i expect the same in return. this isnt fair. so if it starts becoming ok to do this, i'll start sharing my opinion right out in the open and i dont want to hear a damn thing from anyone about it.

sorry to sound mean, but this really isnt right. someone needs to do something. cause i'm not going to hold back my opinions on new horror and have to hear asshole opinions on old.

I understand that you are upset, apparently because you believe that you are not allowed to post your opinions. Hear me when I say this, you are allowed to post your opinions, but you are not allowed to criticize other schmoes for theirs. You are not allowed to come onto their thread and tell them that their question "Suck's Ass". If you hate Scream, then start a thread about it, but be prepared for other schmoes to disagreed. I highly doubt that any senior schmoe that knows the rules would call you a "Snob", but if they did then they would get a post pretty much like this one. Here is the bottom line, you Will Not "let loose" on any schmoe, present or future, or you will suffer a permanent banning. This goes for any schmoe who insults another schmoe or his opinion. I could have sworn I just posted this rule the other day.

i love old horror dont get me wrong. i just nthink that halloween sucks ass. sure there are two good titles (2 and6) but they are soooo boring. f113 isnt all that great either. hellraiser and freddy kicked ass cuz it was never slow and it acually scared me. new age sucks mainly too (scream, ikwydls, valentine, what lies beneath ect) but the thing i like about new horror is that it more psychological thriller shit. (silence of the lambs, hannible, seven,). oh yeah and go ahead and blab about how much new horror sucks cuz i dont blame you.(^-^)

Candyman666 i think nailed it...

Every single Halloween movie is serious. Whether they are good or not they tried to make it scary or tried to take it to the next level.

There is basicly 3 big series'...Jason, Freddy, and Mike...then ther are the 2nd level guys...Pinhead, Leatherface...then there are the 3rd tier...Phantasm, Wishmaster....and what we get is a big war between the groups.

TO ME, halloween is the best of the three because i am entertained and find that the entire series, every movie can hold my interest...I also LOVE Jason AND Freddy. but Halloween is the shite...my dad really liked the first 2 and when i was growing up they became almost folk lore around my house..nevermind the fact they always play the first two every october on TV...so as a kid i pretty much grew up on em and now as a 25 year old its my fave. Im bias, i know..and thats fine because people who say "Mike Sucks" are biased to another series or movie.

its all about what we personaly like...and while i like to have a debate over who is better, its also pretty lame to start a thread with..."Mike Sucks And Im Right!"

fact is we are all right...what we like is what we like....I like Mike (pun intended) part 8 kicked my ass. i want to see part 50 one day..i also want to see Jason 100. or Chainsaw part 30: the saw is rusty...because i love horroh flicks.
