OK, if you're anything like me, your favorite horror films are the ones you grew up on. Ones that have been around for as long as you can remember. For me, there are a few GREAT films that have come up in the past couple of years...films I absolutely LOVE, but cannot in good mind put them on my favorites list simply because they haven't stood the test of time. I thought it might be good to get an idea of what present films will become classics to some people in the next 10 or 20 years...
Here's a small list of my picks:
SESSION 9 - Sure to become a classic. One of the most powerful and effective "haunted house" films of the past 15 years.
JEEPERS CREEPERS - Provided that the sequels don't suck and ruin the franchise, this might go down as a popular cult classic.
BLAIR WITCH PROJECT - This one will probably ALWAYS be remembered.
DOG SOLDIERS - Possibly the next AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, IMHO.
THE OTHERS - Another likely "haunted house" classic candidate.
RING/RINGU - It's a strong possibility that the now popular American remake will spawn many sequels, and in turn, make the original another cult classic.
So, what are your thoughts, schmoes??? What will the next generations favorites be?
