Just bought his new album and FUCK is it good. I've been a fan of his since the early EPs, right through his debut album Hour Of The Bewilderbeast and on to the About A Boy Soundtrack. He makes the whole songwriting experience look totally fucking effortless. We writes beautifully orchestrated pop/rock music that should be checked out by everyone boasting a pulse. I know i'm not the only fan of his on this board but in the wake of the About A Boy soundtrack how well known is this guy in the US and around the world? I strongly urge anyone to download a few of his songs for a listen.

I know who he is...and have for a while. I know he played like...at a Borders when I was in Chicago, so I don't think his fame is skyrocketing. I've got his new disc, only spinned it once, so don't know how I feel yet. I know I didn't hate it. I did see his video on MTV2 the other day though...so who knows how big the guy is.

Hour of Bewilderbeast is always a winner IMO. I particularly love "Fall in a River", "Pissing in the Wind" and "This Song"...It's just a gorgeous little album, and refreshingly different.

I fell in love with the "About a Boy" soundtrack the minute I heard the truly magic "Silent Sigh", and consequently purchased the album...and it's superb.

"Have you fed the fish" is one of my favourites at the moment. The songs are endearing, melodious and subtle...some tunes are instantly catchy, others are eventual grower's. I can't really find fault with it.

Damon Gough is a hugely talented bloke...and he's so fucking "normal" it's untrue. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the man perform live...if only to see a picture of his wife and kids (apparently he passes around family photographs to "amuse" the audience between songs!?) I like him, and I love his work...I think he'll be around for a long while yet.

Badly drawn boy is a band I really want to like but it just doesnt ring true with me. Lord knows I've tried but the music just doesn't draw me in.

Just heard Badly Drawn Boys cover version of Bruce Springsteen's Thunder Road. I absolutely worship the original of this song and he treats it with the respect it deserves. It's a very nice little cover version.
