if you had to choose one, JUST ONE album that from start to finish is the greatest, what would it be?

I myself would say Double Nickels on the Dime by the Minutemen

The Joshua Tree by U2

I can't choose just one so I'll post a few

1.(What's The Story) Morning Glory? by Oasis

This is possibly the greatest rock album to come out of the 90's and defenitely Oasis's best work, and some of the best work by any band ever.

2.London Calling- The Clash

Great great music from a great band.

3.The Joshua Tree- U2

U2 is defenitly one of the greatest bands of all time and they still have the ability to churn out great music even after 20 years, but this album defenitly showed us their best work to date.

4.A Rush Of Blood To The Head- Coldplay

Even though this just came out this last year I defenitely consider it to be in the same league as the all time greats. Some great music has come from this band and it's good to see that such a talented group is getting the recognition they deserve

There are more albums that I consider great and possibly greater than these but I only wanted to post a few.

LOL! Robert Smith is rolling around in his fried chicken-y GRAVE right now! Wait... he IS dead, right? ;)

My vote goes to Robert Johnson's "stones In my passway". An absolutely GENIUS song.. I have no idea what the B-side is, but I'm sure its a good one..

as for an LP, I'd have to sayyyyyyyyyyyy.....

Buddy Holly's self titled release.. The one on Coral Records.

WOW!!! I've seriously never felt like more of an idiot in my life.

I promise that I don't think that London Calling is by The Cure it's just that I was thinking about what albums to put and I guess I started thinking about The Cure while typing. I should be banished from the music forum for this. Feel free to flame all you want I give permission. I haven't been this embarassed in a long time, and this is a freaking internet message board. I am now apologizing to the gods of music.

- Pet Sounds (The Beach Boys)
- Hounds of Love (Kate Bush)
- The Velvet Underground & Nico (The Velvet Underground & Nico)
- This is Hardcore (Pulp)

The single greatest? Thats tough to choose but I'd go for Tool - Aenima

Other greats are 'Radiohead - OK Computer', 'The Cure - Disintegration' and 'Nirvana - Nevermind'
