This is for movies that got snubbed by the Oscars, and not just for Best Picture. Any movie for any category, from costume design to original score.

The one that springs immediately to mind for me: last year's Best Animated Feature award. While I'm glad that Shrek won, I am now and forever severely pissed that Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within didn't even get nominated.

WARNING: Profanity-laced rant ahead.

Jimmy Fucking Neutron got nominated instead! Jimmy Neutron!?! Not only was Final Fantasy a better movie, but the animation was only, oh I dunno, about a thousand times more impressive, and that little bubble-headed prick Jimmy Neutron gets nominated instead!? I know the Academy's been smokin' it the past few years, but just how stoned do you have to be to pull that shit off with a straight face!?

I still can't believe Three Kings got not one nomination at the '99 Oscars. It should've been nominated for, and quite possibly won, Original Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Director, etc....

THE SPANISH PRISONER. I never thought it would sweep the Oscars (too obscure), but I thought at least a Best Original Screenplay nomination would have been in order. Mamet's best work, IMHO, which didn't receive the recognition it deserved.

Life Of Brian (best screenplay, best song)
High Fidelity (best screenplay, supporting actor)
American Psycho (best actor)

All three AT LEAST deserved those nominations

Wonder Boys really deserved awards, what an underrated gem. Also, Gene Hackman should have been at least nominated for The Royal Tenenbaums...at the same awards Billy Bob Thornton was snubbed when he should have won for The Man Who Wasn't There.

I second that.

It woulda been nice to see Session 9 win something too, but its a horror movie so that isn't gonna happen. I thought it was good enought for an award though.

Being a Kubrick film, I thought for sure that Eyes Wide Shut would get nominated for something. I realize that the reviews were very mixed--but one would think it would at least get a nod for cinematography and art decoration.
