Jimi Hendrix
John Coltrane
Buddy Holly
Otis Redding
Sam Cooke
Charlie Parker
John Lennon
Jim Morrison
Marvin Gaye
Mozart

These men brightened many lives with their greatness, but all died far sooner than they should have. Far too soon.

All the ones I'm thinking of have already been mentioned, but John Lennon tops my list.

When will these musicians learn?: Aviation is not their friend.

I don't know which band members died but I meant to imply those members that did die in the plane crash.

Of all the musicians deaths that have occured in my life, the one that affected me the most was Layne Staley of Alice in Chains.
His death was more depressing than Cobain's was and I have a lot of admiration for his music.

Elvis Presley
Marc Bolan
Gram Parsons
Buddy Holly

Lady Summerisle

Joey Ramone, Dee Dee

A true punk hero who never conformed to what everyone else thinks. His brother shares his legend.

Joe Strummer

Another punk legend that signifies the end of an era that allows true free expression.

I agree with the others, but these men are some of the most underrated.

Rosemary Clooney

She was an old school mama who knew how to sing. She battled hard with an addiction and won. A classy lady who is in the class of Sinatra.

Buddy Holly

Jim Croce

The Big Bopper

Ritchie Valens

John Lennon

When 2pac died, it paved the way for copycats and idiots. Look at rap music now. All you here is goofy rappers or somebody saying "bling, bling" every other line.

When Kurt Cobain died that was the end of good rock and roll. No one has topped or tieds them sense.

The death of John Lennon needs to no explination.

Also, Elvis, George Harrison, BIG and others.

JUST KIDDING!:D

I'd say Elvis' death had a profound impact on the music world (somehow, the world was shocked   ) as did the death of Hank Williams. I would love to see where country (if you can call it that) music would be if he'd lived a while longer. I think he was in his 20's when he died.
