He's my favorite actor, and in my opinion also the best, so I figured he deserved a stop here. I left this at a top 5 rather then 10, as not to many people know his non-John Woo/American movies.

My top 5:

1. A Better Tomorrow
2. The Killer
3. A Better Tomorrow 2 (third favorite, but far from his third best - very cheesy)
4. Full Contact
5. Tiger on Beat/God of Gamblers

I'm a big action fan, and I haven't seen very many of his better dramas (... His best performance I've seen after A Better Tomorrow was in All About Ah Long, but the movies storyline was so predictable and sometimes by-the-numbers that it did not make my top 5. Tiger on Beat barely made a tied fifth, I give it that for the phenomenal climactic scenes. I need to get a GIF of the machette swing, I had one made but lost it.

WORST..

1. A Better Tomorrow 3 - Immensely disappointing.
2. Rich and Famous (one good action scene - that's it)
3. Tragic Hero (Rich and Famous' sequel, one good action scene as well, and ends as if Tony Montana had survived the ending of Scarface)
4. City on Fire - Reservoir Dog's direct ancestor/source DNA (Tarantino fans should check it out for that), but it just fails on most levels - Danny Lee and CYF have decent chemistry though, but we already knew that from The Killer
5. The Corruptor - a decent performance from Chow can't save this one. Felt like it should of been better then it was.

If you haven't seen many of his movies, just list your favorite. :p

Just like to mention: For those who have seen the better known John Woo/CYF movies: A Better Tomorrow, The Killer and Hard-Boiled... A Better Tomorrow 2 is fantastic. Ludicrous, but extremely entertaining, with one of the best final shootouts ever filmed. Also Woo's most violent work since A Better Tomorrow (though Heroes Shed No Tears, which came out before ABT, is extremely cruel and definetly exceeds it in gore).

Also, check out Once a Thief. It is MUCH MUCH better then the American remake/TV series. Has CYF and the younger brother from ABT as the main characters, and a few others you'll probably recognize. Much less bloody then the usual Woo, though it still has a lot of great gunfights - just a lot less squibs. Also has a lot of humor vaguely akin to Jackie Chan's movies. And a few pretty cool theft-caper scenes. Under-rated Woo.
