Of course the great Argento loses his talent in the late 90's and the next millenium but I do think that TSS was not that bad.
The last 30 minutes were pretty lame but Asia was very convincing playing an mentally - ill cop.
She was so fragile but it was just impressions when u know what she did, especially near the end.
The idea of her strange illness ( that really exists !!!! ) was clever I think.
Imagine , u see a beautiful paint and you faint and ...

It's not your typical Argento flick but it ain't bad at all. I hated, hated, hated it when I watched it for the first time, but there's sure somthing to it if you give it another try. On the other hand, maybe I ain't the one to tell you this, I even thought PHANTOM OF THE OPERA is a bit underrated.

I however don't get why STENDAL SYNDROME is labeld a sign for Argento's decline, visual-wise he's at his best here.

I kind of like it but then again nothing like OPERA.

a cool first third, but then it just was almost another take on The Bird With The Crystal Plumage. Fell asleep on it in the last 30 minutes and had to watch the rest the next day. Is it a bad movie: no, For an Argento movie:yes

I happen to Love the Stendhal Syndrome. It gets in your face, and under your skin.Rape is not meant to be pretty. The gore is Opera
worthy, and Asia gives one of her best preformances ever!Bravo to the rest of the cast also.Dario was right on track with this one!The opening of the movie rivals Suspiria.

I don't think Argento has lost any of his talent in the 90's,and this movie proves it.
