Has anyone heard of, or seen, this film? I got a copy from a friend, and it is all in German, with no subs. It's cool as hell, some of the goriest scenes I've watched in a long time, but more info would be appreciated. It looks like it is from the late 80's or early 90's.

Premutos was directed by Olaf Ittenbach in 1997...Gory as Hell German Film that makes Braindead look like Sesame Street..Ittenbach directed another earlier film titled Burning Moon.A Trilogy of Gore of Sorts.Has a hefty bodycount..not as high as Premutos though which racked up 139?..Other German Gore directors to watch are Andreas Schnass(VS 1-3 ,Anthropophagous 2000 and Zombie 90:Extreme Pestilence) and Jorg Buttregiet(Nekromantik 1-2 , Shramm , Der Todesking).

That's the one! The same actor is in Premutos, as in Burning Moon too right? That guy looked familiar. BMoon was sucky though...this one is much better. I haven't finished it yet, but I hear the final zombie attack puts Dead Alive to shame, which I can't imagine. Are there more of these Premutos movies? What the hell is it about anyway? Looks like a demon who is reincarnated throughout the ages or something.

Ittenbach is in Both films..and No..I believe Premutos is the only one I know of.As for the basic Plot you got it right Pari..Its about an Evil Spirit Which has been around for a long Time. The Movie Goes throughout the ages to the present displaying The Bloodshed it has left behind and how it was formed...And indeed the ending DOES put Dead/Alive to shame.Enjoy http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
***I just found out that Shock-O-Rama is going to Release an English Dubbed DVD of Premutos in the near Future***

Parilese, you definitely need to check out ANTHROPOPHAGUS 2000 by Andreas Schnaas. It's way better than the original MANEATER, on which it is based.

I bought it on a whim a few months ago from and thought it was pretty cool. Even without sub-titles it was pretty easy to follow, loved the end blood bath!

Sending this over to Past Horror.

Also I believe it comes out on DVD today, if you get a chance to rent it I'd recommend that you do, it is a fun movie.

Anyone got any links to buy this movie or an official release date? I can't seem to find anything.

Yeah, I'll be picking up the DVD. Ittenbach has said he set out to surpass the gore quotient in Dead Alive, which he cites as a major influence. This has to be entertaining!

Howdy ho!
S'been a long time General.

I finally got my ass round to ordering in some new DVDs from the States (got raped by customs charges tho :@ - be warned UK buyers!) of which this was one.

Only after clicking on the Buy button did i read elsewhere that this "Shock o Rama" version was, contrary to claims on the sleeve, cut.

Just wondering, even though this is an old thread, does anyone here have any idea what was removed? I mean, they prettymuch run through the smorgasboard of interpersonal slaughter.. cant really be much which would have cause offence?!

I saw mention in another thread from Mr Chocula, that you noticed jumps in the movie? Ive gotta say that it all pretty much seemed in line with the school of lowbudget film making and not necessarily the wrath of the censors.. Still, any info would be appreciated..

Tho certainly a rad movie either way.. 10 out of 10 for featuring a fat balding dude in a purple suit goin nutzoid with a Phat Chainsaw..

Bonus!

To me, it seemed choppy. I'm not sure what exactly was cut, but certain scenes just felt truncated. Still, the edited version is ridiculously bloody. But I must admit, I was fairly disappointed in this flick. My platform would probably change if I were to view an uncut, subtitled (the dubbing is horrendous) version.

yeah i know exactly what ya mean about the choppy editing, tho it seems pretty much a staple point of the camcorder film school.. The scene where Matthias wastes his mom looked like it may have been trimmed - im yet to see a Gore movie that does offscreen kills..

Still, the dubbing is f@ckin attrocious man, i agree! In fact id go so far as to say its worse than Zombie 90..
It does really upset me though to see these films treated like this by the Distributor. It seems as if the people who are dubbing have no idea whatsoever as to the story line, and were no more than a few mates takin the piss with the volume turned down..

Totally agree with you on its faults, but ive gotta say, by the sounds of it, i enjoyed it more .

Another thing im gonna ask tho while im here..

***** SPOILER ********

Like where the f@ck did the Tank come from? Was this another of the Narrative twists the Distributors glossed over in their translation?

Yeah, you'd think that a DVD distribution company by the name of Shock-O-Rama would handle unyielding exploitation fare with more precision, or that they would at least unearth the uncut version. There's not even an option for subtitles! The dubbing is truly appalling. I believe that one of the dubbed voices belongs to scream queen Tiffany Shepis, but I could be mistaken. I should have just watched the damn thing in German.

So true man, tho you can tell by the cover that theyve not really gone to town on the production values ;)

I know that the adorable "Scream queen" Brinke Stevens provided voices somewhere along the line, as for Tiffany Shepis tho, cant say i know..

On the subject of bad dubbing, if you get the chance, check out Andreas Schnaas' Zombie 90: Extreme Pestilence - totally in contention for worst dubbing award. Dont plunk down big bucks for it tho, the movie sucks limp donkey dick - but is very gory... If it werent for the Amended dialogue being so cringeworthy in Premutos, Zombie 90 would still undisputedly hold its crown, altho as it stands in my book there is a new pretender to the throne..

What sucks even more, became apparent earlier on, when scoping thru the "Making of" feature.. namely that the print from which the clips from the movie are taken, is infinitely better than that on the DVD itself!!!!

Still.. got me Last house on Dead end st DVD to watch tonite.. should make up for any other little disappointments :D

Oh, anyone else reading, the question is still open!!

Name them missing scenes and win a Free bowl of soup!

I believe you're correct; I had my scream queens mixed up. The scenes featured in the making-of documentary also seemed to be uncut. Shock-O-Rama must be keeping a superior DVD all to themselves!
