I checked out this movie last night and i have to say it was brilliant.

It falls under horror because it has to do with vampires (watch and you'll see).

It is about a young boy who tries to cope with rural life circa 1950s and his fantasies become a way to interpret events. After his father tells him stories of vampires, he becomes convinced that the widow up the road is a vampire, and tries to find ways of discouraging his brother from seeing her. He must deal with an abusive mother, a father with a charge of molestation, a band of youths creating havoc, and an unforgiving environment in general.

It is a very brilliant movie and i recommend it to anyone (especialy if you are a David Lynch fan)

9.5/10

Great review, AP ZOMBIE! I, myself adore this flick (combining elements of many horror subgenres). I first caught it late one night on Cinemax around 10 years ago, and purchased it (BlockBastard was downsizing and sold it to me for $5, and the video was of superior quality!). Definitely one of my favorites.

I love THE REFLECTING SKIN. Not your average vampire tale, and it didn't have to force it's strangeness on you like some of Lynch's work tends to do. Viggo Mortensen plays well throughout.

Pretty good little flick. Very cool atmophere. Seemed a little too slow moving for my taste, still not bad. **1/2

In college I took a film appreciation course, and the demented, twisted professor (bless him) thrusted this bizarro-fest on his unsuspecting class.

I loved every minute of The Reflecting Skin (especially its now notorious frog scene). I taped it off a local cable channel on a regrettably inferior VHS tape. I await its DVD release.

This is in my top 10. I've owned this movie forever, and I would NEVER sell it. Every time I see it I gain something new. (And yes, I'm a HUGE Lynch fan, coincidentally.) I LONG for the DVD someday --- even if it had no special features, I wouldn't care. I just want it upgraded to DVD so that my VHS copy doesn't croak on me.

Eerie, subtle, challenging, very mobid, and VERY thought-provoking, it's like a Roald Dahl book made into a film by Marilyn Manson. SEE IT. BY ALL MEANS.

I can't sing the praises of this movie better than you guys already have so I'll just register another suggestion that you track it down if you haven't seen it yet. It's somber, chilling and damn unique to boot.

Ridley did another film with Brendan Fraser and Ashley Judd called the Passion of Darkly Noon, has anyone seen this. I've seen a very brief bit of it and it looked interesting, at the very least.
