Unplugged songs are songs that were recorded live, not in a studio. I think the best unplugged song hands down is All Apologies by Nirvana. It has a haunting beat to it, because it was recorded only a few months before Kurt Cobain's suicide. A close second is Eric Clapton's Tears In Heaven, an excellent song as well.

I loved when Pearl Jam did Oceans unplugged...wonderful stuff. Also, Maxwell's cover of the Kate Bush classic, This Woman's Work, was AMAZING! He actually sang it in the SAME KEY!

Nirvana's Unplugged in New York is my second favorite televised concert, and the best is the finale: Where Did You Sleep Last Night? (All Apologies a close second).

Shooting Star - one of the few very good songs Bob Dylan wrote during the 80s. The Unplugged version is wonderfully orchestrated and beautiful in its melancholy.

Are You Going To Go My Way? - Lenny Kravitz.

It's not technically part of an Unplugged session, but Johnette Napolitano and James Mankey from Concrete Blonde did an acoustic version of Joey at the MTV studios for 120 Minutes that is breathtaking in it's simple beauty and heartbreaking in it's sincerity and passion. It's on their rarities CD.
