The Stone Roses?
They only released one album, and that was 50/50 at best.

I say NOTABLE'S, I use the term loosely, PULP are the only 90's band for me. The Stone Roses defined the 80's of course (but I thought they deserved a mention). Second Coming was a very decent album IMO, and they released a few remix albums and the like...
I was going to mention a few more bands, but I got a wee bit side-tracked...I can see why you pulled me up on that...
Nirvana, Belle and Sebastian, Radiohead, Mercury Rev, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Manic Street Preachers all deserve a wee bit of praise.
But the one and only PULP are my pick, no doubt about it!!!

TOOL fo sho. Just Aenima alone is enough for them to have that title. Then ofcourse you have Opiate and Undertow.
Radiohead is second for me with The Bends and OK Computer both terrific albums.
Many others ~~ Opeth, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Alice In Chains, Mr. Bungle

Smashing Pumpkins, Primus, Dinosaur Jr. (though Dinosaur was around in the 80's), Pearl Jam, and Clutch.

50/50 at best in your opinion in my opinion its a classic and what you seam to forget is the impact the stone roses had on british music in the 90's no stone roses =no oasis who in the words of liam galleghar only thought about forming a band when he saw the stone roses at spike island.the legend that is the stone roses will live on long after any other british bands of the 90's ever will, and that includes the likes of oasis and the charletons and all the other soundalike's and copycat's.
and for your own info
the stone roses-the stone roses was in the album chart top 10 in 1990
the second coming 1994
and the singles
fools gold was in the top 10 1990
one love top 10 1990
10 story love song top 10 1994
love spreads top 5 1994
so if you ask me they qualify as one of the top groups of the 90's
and will always be the top band of the 90's for me.
other great artist's of the 90's

Rage and Tool probably top my list. But one band that I thoroughly enjoyed for a minute was Blues Traveler. Four is an amazing album.
