A.J. COOK ~ Bonafide Scream Queen

ICP RULZ's revived thread has inspired me to create this one. I would have put it in the Celeb Talk/Gossip forum, but I'll be focusing on her genre work...and her sheer goddess-ness. I believe that one of her first acting roles was in an episode of Goosebumps! Of course, she starred in Wishmaster 3: Beyond the Gates of Hell. A mediocre entry, but she stood out. This was my first exposure to A.J. I wasn't expecting to find genuine acting talent in W3, but she was bubbling over with it. I also took note of the fact that she was beyond beautiful. And so the crush bloomed...

She was exceptional in Ripper: Letters From Hell. Her character, Molly, was drastically different from what I saw in W3. Needless to say, she pulled it off without a hitch. Brooding, manic-depressant, a violent mood swing in herself. She even looked the part; her hair was a dark red and her clothes were usually pitch black. Me finding "dark" chicks attractive, I naturally swooned over her. To get into character, she went out and bought American Psycho (the book) to get inside the head of a serial killer. That's pretty fucking cool! Granted, she wasn't able to stomach all of it, but who can blame her? The film itself was halfway decent, but just as with W3, she was the best thing about it.

A.J. was also in a genre film by the name of The House Next Door. I haven't seen it, nor have I heard anyone mention it. I might look into picking it up in the future just out of curiosity. It's common knowledge that she plays the co-heroine in the upcoming Final Destination 2. It appears as though it's a mature step-up from the original. Plus, it confirms that no matter her hair color, she's always hot to an unreal extent. Blonde, brunette, redhead...fuck, she'd probably look delicious bald!

From what I've read in interviews, she has a very cool outlook on the genre. She isn't ashamed of participating in a couple of b-movies. I'm not sure how much longer her string of horror films will last (probably not too much longer), but she's attested that she believes in staying loyal to what made you. This was in reference to her potentially starring in a third FD, but I have a feeling that she was speaking of her horror roots in general. A very cool chick, a great actress, and an angelic exterior.

And you better believe that if this thread doesn't garner too many replies, I'll be bumping the motherfucker! Mark my word, A.J. Cook will be the next scream queen, and in my opinion, already is! Oh, and I'll marry her, too. Yep.

Well,your right about a couple of things,but before I get to those,good job and looks like you know this chick pretty well. Anyways,first off,you were right on how fucking ridiculasly(sp?) hot she is. Damn,is she ever fine. Secondly,you were right about how about how she stands out. I have yet to see her horror movies,but I have seen Out Cold and she stood out and she was really super fucking hot in it too.

I hope you bump this thread and Count,you have inspired me to get more into her shit too and to get me into someone is a pretty hard thing to do. Although she is hot and she does stand out in movies,I doubt she will be the next scream queen.

Definitely check out her genre flicks. The films themselves aren't exactly spectacular, but she is. She rises above the cheese. And don't count her out of scream queen status just yet. I have a feeling that her and horror will part ways soon (she's bound to become a Hollywood name), but I also have a feeling that she'll return to it later on out of loyalty to what thrusted her into the spotlight, much like what Jamie Lee Curtis pulled off with H20. Now, if only we could get Jennifer Aniston to acknowledge Leprechaun!

She is a great scream queen an is finally getting the recognition she deserves. I'll be seeing FD2 next weekend. Oh and if you want to catch her pretty much nude, check out Ripper: Letters From Hell, she has a completely see-through shirt on and what a sight for sore eyes. I'm serious, you can see them perfectly.

I took six months of acting class in Toronto with A.J cook and a few other quasi-famous young Canadian actors (re: YTV actors, et al). This was years ago.. she wasn't IN my class, but we had a few workshops together. She's a great girl, best of luck to her and her career.

HOWEVER, someone who I did NOT like (who also took the class) was Melody Johnson... grr. I DISTINCTLY (my friend can also back me up for this) remember her saying how she would never do a love scene on film. Lest we forget Jason X, Melody, lest we forget.

Melody's reasonably hot. As a matter of fact, all of the ladies in Jason X are reasonably hot. Of course, none of them compare to A.J.! And I still don't count her transparent garments in Ripper as nudity. The scene was too harrowing to enjoy on a T&A level anyway. I wouldn't mind seeing her do nudity in the future, but in all honesty, it wouldn't bother me if she didn't. That's a testament to how good she looks in clothing. Besides, I can always indulge in porn if I want to ogle naked women.

I don't know. Larter doesn't do much for me. She was solid in the House on Haunted Hill remake, but I didn't care for her in Final Destination. She didn't look that great either. I’m sure that most disagree, though.

Well, I guess I'll fill you in until Count does. Here's a list with ratings;

Wishmaster 3- 6/10, She looks great in every scene.

Virgin Suicides- 10/10
Fantastic movie but she isn't in it very much and it isn't horror.

Ripper: Letters from Hell- 7/10, A silly and wicked horror film that doesn't skimp on the gore. Wait till you see the saw mill scene. This, to me, is her best for one reason: A.J. Cook shows her breasts through a completely see-through/wet nightgown. Worth the watch just for that.

Final Destination 2- I'll let you know.

I'm banking on FD2 to be her best horror flick, but for now, I'll just go with Ripper. Mediocre and somewhat pretentious, but I applaud it for trying to rise above the average slasher. It's extremely stylish, and of course, it has a great heroine.

Now that I think about, I believe I've seen "The Virgin Suicides," but it was a long time ago. I must have forgotten she was in it.

im seeing FD2 very soon so hopefully i'll agree,but if she had blonde hair it would be much better....but wishmaster 3 is my favorite of hers as of now.

Wishmaster 3 is corny beyond reason (the ridiculous angel subplot), but it's a step-up from the dull Evil Never Dies.

I was recently watching FINAL DESTINATION 2 and I realized how amazing she is. She deserves better then straight to video crap movies. FD 2 really showed how great she is.

Definite Hottie!! Has done the horror community proud. Whilst Ripper and Wishmaster 3 weren't too great, she was very credible in them, and of course her lead role in Final Destination 2 was particularly impressive. Wether she's blonde or brunette she's HOT!, and I wouldn't mind seeing her in more horror movies, just as long they turn out better than Ripper or WM3. A.J. has a fan down under in me.

Whoa, it is impossible for Ali Larter to look bad. She is extrememly hot. I usually dont even like blondes but she looks damn good. I obviously also like Sheri Moon from House of 1000 Corpses. Man, its good to be bisexual. :)

Last night on SPACE, they played TEEN SORCERY Staring A J COOK. The movie was EXTREAMLY CANADIAN.....you know, porely made and straight for tv. It was like one big episode of "ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?", it even had the lame music. It was about to rival witches. A J was the good witch and LEXA DOIG (JASON X) played the bad witch.

Shes like "the new girl semi-rebel" with dark clothes and blonde hair. LEXA looks better in JASON X. In this one her hair is cut real short, I wouldn't of known it was LEXA, but her name was in the opening credits.
