FTP...

Ok folks. I'll be going Broadband in mid-march and when I do I intend to start an FTP providing I can get my head around how exactly you do that. What is this FTP going to be for? Well primarily I intend to use it to allow schmoes to share music. Everyone who wishes to use the FTP either to upload files or leech whatever takes their fancy will be welcome to do so. Some rules will apply but I don't reckon anyone will misbehave. I won't insist on schmoes uploading stuff in exchange for downloads but some uploads would be appreciated. If there are any FTP experts out there then i'd appreciate it if you could offer some advice on how to go about setting up an FTP and which software is the best and simplest to use. Does this sound like a good idea? It's not a definite. It's just a possibility at the moment. A lot depends upon how much effort will be involved on my part to get it up and running and maintain it. Any thoughts?

I took a full year of Cisco networking classes and I still couldn't tell you how to set one up. I can use one when it is set up but I don't know how to set it up.

I'll now be going Broadband within the next week. Providing I can get my head around the whole FTP thing then I should have it set up within a week of getting connected. So...once again...if anyone has any info on what is the best software to use for setting up and FTP or can give me any pointers re how to actually go about doing this then i'd appreciate it.

im on a white stripes ftp. dunno anything bout ftps tho.
