Generous actor Keanu Reeves has sacrificed a massive $38 million to prevent the two new Matrix films being scrapped.

The Speed hunk gave up his claim to a cut of the films' ticket sales when producers began fearing the box office would not cover the costs of making the special effects-laden flicks.

The gesture is one of the most generous ever in Hollywood and has stunned studio bosses.

A Warner Brothers insider says, "The special effects in the new movie are beyond belief - but hugely expensive."

"There was a real danger the projects would be scrapped until Keanu offered to sign away his cut. He has kissed goodbye to a huge sum of money."

I agree. I've never had a problem with Keanu and actually think he's a pretty decent actor.

I remember reading an article when the first Matrix film came out and it talked about how Keanu was supposed to get a % of the films profits. However, he basically signed that % over to the visual effects team because he felt they should have gotten more money for what they were doing than they did. Seems like a class act to me.

He ain't a great actor but he has given some decent performances through the years in a variety of different roles. Giving up his stake in the Matrix sequels is pretty fuckin' classy though.

Ok, fine, I'm sure he's a really nice and cool guy. I can't say anything about him because I've never met him and don't know him but I still dislike him as an ACTOR.

I'll never give him credit as an actor, because he doesn't deserve it. But that's definately very cool of him to front the extra money for the films. (Although who the hell in Accounting fucked up to the tune of 38 mil I wonder?) SOMEBODY is losing their job over THAT one.

and in regards to Keanu in Matrix 1.... he got 10 million for the role and he collected 35 million for the box office reciepts... at least thats what i read... i didnt hear anything about him giving up his money on that film! (ur pry right tho... im just puttin down what i wrote)
