I just have to reccomend these games to all serious horror fans. I have just started playing the Gabriel Knight games and let me say that they are simply amazing. Sierra and Jane Jenson are to be appluaded for all the effort that went into these games. This trilogy of games focuses on Gabriel Knight, a horror/mystery writer. The first game deals with Gabriel getting involved in a series of murders that might be related to voodoo. The gameplay is point and click, but the story more then makes up for it. It is like being in an amazing horror movie. The story is based in fact and the game is serious in tone. This is not about killing monsters. It is rather about solving a bizzare case in murder that has an entire city on edge. It is simply stunning. If Voodoo is not your thang, then try Gabriel Knight 2. This one deals with werewolves and a famous (possibly real) case of lyconthrophy. The game is presented in full FMV which makes it a little wierd, but wait till you see the wolf... I can not say it enough. These games are amazing. Check them out if your a fan of games like phantasmagoria. Any horror fan owes it to themselves to play these games. Some might scoff at a horror video game, but gabriel knight 1 is easily 10x more exciting and intriguing then most to all horror films in the past few years.

I remember playing the original a loooooong time ago. It was the first adventure game where i actually had the patience to sit and beat. I remember the voodoo story very well. It was pretty chilling.

The first was fantastic, the second not as good (was in the age of the Full Motion Video adventures) and the third excellent, with overtones of last year's Revelation and the book Holy Blood and Holy Grail - with a twist, naturally!

I am really stuck in Gabriel Knight 1 at the moment, but it still kicks ass. I haven't played or even heard of the plot for Gabriel Knight 3. care to fill me in please with the plot? Also along the same lines as Gabriel Knight is the phantasmagoria series. I only briefly saw some of it. Can anyone tell me if phantasmagoria is worth picking up? Like is there any decent gore or a cool story or something.

But the first one is by far my total favorite! It has good gore, good music and suspense and a good strong story and plot and you can do major exploring and snooping which is always very cool! The only thing is, is that I wanted to play it again recently and it would not work on my newer computer. I guess older games are sometimes hard to play on certain systems. Like on mine you will hear music just not the character talking or vice versa, it was a real let down because I love this game! They should have a movie or a book adaption or something because I want to reenter it's world! It is great! They need to update this one so that newer fans and computers can play this awesome game! Roberta Williams really outdid herself on this one, I wish she would make more games like it.
Gabrial Knight kicks ass also especially part 2!:p
