I remember when I was in grade eight we had to do a report on someone we look up to. Some kids did their parents, others did firefighters or police officers they knew. I did, Clive Barker.
I worked my ass off getting it just right. I brought his books, comics and films which I had, or I rented the others I didn't have. I even ripped out pictures from a biography I got. We had to do our report in front of the class. When it came to mine, I brought all this creepy stuff and everyone but maybe handful wanted me to stop. Then I put on a tape. It was the ending of Hellraiser. I let the class watch it and over half of them were getting sick, it was great. It was then I realized that maybe not everyone was a horror fan.
Does anyone else have a funny story about being the odd one out because of being a horror fan.

WHERE: Philosophy lecture
Brock University
I brought in THE RE-ANIMATOR , the uncut DVD, to show for the first 30 minutes of class.
Needless to say we had gotten to the scene where Hill discusses Brain Death to his students while graphically showing them how to peel the scalp back.
Ahhh, I was asked never to bring a DVD in again.
Being a horror fan makes me proud to know that I can make people sick with the touch of a button, while I laugh gleefully at the antics of Dr. Herbert West.

The Dr. is in....hey dude cool topic...I remember when i was in the 5th grade we also had to do a project on the person we look up to the most and i chose kane hodder. I wrote bc he does his own stunts and how hes been doing it for so long. I was able to do my homework on him through the internet and i found hes terribley burned on his hands from one stunt and he still has the scars on him. My main reason though was bc he plays the most bad ass horror villain to ever grace the red screen.. of course i mean Jason fucking Voorhees. I brought pics of him in the Jason make up and without. When i showed them to the class they fuckin freaked it was so cool. Only the the ones who watched horror movies in my class knew what to expect...but as far as the others boy were they shocked. I got a B for the grade but its memories like that they will stay wit u forever i mean the girls faces lol it was great god i love horror. the Dr. is out ..lata fellow horror buffs.

I am not actualy an odd one out just because only a select few know about my love for horror movies. For one simple reason, people look at you wierd if you like them. Although most of the kids like the new shit they bring out,and I have to watch the new shit with my friends,I don't think they would like the old horror flicks just cuz they are too "cool" for them. Just because me and my buddys are the "cool" crowed means we can't watch any horror movies and enjoy them except for the new ones.
Also, when I was younger, most people looked at me strangley whenever I would say lets rent this horror movie. They thought I would grow up to be a axe murderer.

in spanish class my freshman year in high school, we were supposed to bring in a picture of someone and decribe them.
i printed off a pic of the cover of "Zombie", i got up in the front of the class and pulled out the pic. some people were already getting sick, the teacher was supposed to help us with words we didnt know. i asked "how do you say rotting flesh in spanish?" the teacher just looked at me wierd. then i asked "how do you say worm infested eye socket?"
people were getting sick and i was asked to sit down. hahahhahaha god it was great. but i thought i was gonna get sent to the guidence councellor, but big deal. what was he gonna do? call my parents? they know i watch that stuff. they aint gonna do nothing. but it was still funny as hell.
i hated the class, i hated the teacher. so i was gonna do what i wanted to do that day. i wanted to gross out the whole class. it worked well. hahahahhaha.
EDIT-remembered another one
i was stuck with an art class my sophamore year in high school, not by choice. they stuck me in there, the damn guidence councellor would get me out of it. so i always did my homework in there.
one day the teacher kept bugging me about failing the class cause i didnt do any of the projects, i told her i didnt ask to be here so i'm doing my homework. she kept bugging me and bugging me so i got a piece of paper and drew a decapitated head with a jason-like figure holding it as it dripped blood on the ground. i handed it to her, she looked at me like i was about to pull out a machette on her. i said "thats what i draw." cause it is, i have lots of drawings of horror related stuff i've done.
that time i did get sent to the guidence counceller. but he knew me by then, i told him i love horror and i like to draw horror related pictures. basically he gave me a lecture about failing the class and that was it.
she never bugged me again. of course i failed the class, but i didnt give a rat's ass.
