Actors that all schmoes like

These are some actors that I have NEVER seen any schmoe bash on before:

Jake Gyllenhaal
Ewan McGregor
Kathy Bates
Robert De Niro
Al Pacino
Jack Nicholson

Correct me if I'm wrong but I have never heard anyone say anything bad about these actors, do you guys agree? disagree? What other actors have never been dissed by the schmoes? Just curious.

I've never heard anyone utter a bad word about Nicholson. Pacino and DeNiro have caught some flack from their recent work, especially their comedies, but nothing serious. Kathy Bates? Well, the only thing I can think to mention that doesn't bode in her favor would be her nude scene, and at the very least that shows she still has some gutsy moves left in her. Ewan McGregor has impeccable taste in projects and is what I like to refer to as a "chameleon" actor (no one can blame him for the SW prequel trilogy).

As for Jake Gyllenhaal, I think he's still way too green. Give him a couple of years and he'll do something somebody doesn't like. But as long as we're counting fresh faces, I'd like to add one:

Colin Farrell.

Jack Nicholson took a dump in my two bedroom apartment after we came from a Lakers game. He stinks - BAD!

We've had several discussions about Norton. A few people don't like him.

I'm not a Pacino fan. Dog Day Afternoon was great, but I think he's way over the top, usually.

I don't know, he seems to be the most popular guy around here though, he has his critics sure, but what actor doesn't? Never seen so much adoration for one actor in my lifetime.

With good reason, I think. I'll try to search out the thread that went on in. It was pretty laughable. Maybe it was only one guy, but he HATED Norton, and if I'm not mistaken wished him dead or something.

I've been critical of some of Spacey's work. I've effusively praised some of his other work. He's maddenigly inconsistent, but I give him a pass because his highs are so high.

Actually, I was having an IM conversation just last night w/ one of my pals and Newman's name came up, and this guy said he didn't like him, and never had. My friend is about my age, so he's hardly callow or ignorant, and he likes movies.

I was stunned and amazed. I had never heard anyone dislike Newman out of anything other than politics or personal jealously before.

I don't like Spacey, I've always found him to be a monotone, bland, boring actor... I swear he is on sedatives or something. I've never been very impressed with his performances. Not trying to offend Spacey fans but it has always amazed me how he has gained such a large fanbase.
