I'll be picking it up from dvdplanet (only 25 bucks, lot cheaper than the usual criterion price..). I thought this movie was wild, and didn't care that it didn't really have a plot, the look of the film was amazing. I'm really looking forward to a Hunter S. Thompson commentary, that should be awesome.

Bloody hell, I got the original disc not that long ago. Grrr to you Hollywood, why didn't you inform me you were going to do this?

All that matters is that I have the movie I suppose in nice DVD format.

That sounds like the best set of extras that I've seen in a while.

As your attorney, I advise you to buy this movie again.

I'll be picking that up to. The first time I saw it I had eaten some mushrooms and the movie gave me fucked-up dreams for a week. I saw Hunter S. Thompson on Conan and he was nuts. Conan and Thompson drank and shot guns off. Thompson still talks a little like Depp in the movie. That guy is weird.

I went to Barnes and Nobles in Spokane, Wa this weekend and lo and behold they had the Criterion version, I picked it up instantly. The DTS track is much better than the orginal's dvd 2.0 surround. If anyone is in SPokane, go to the Northtown mall's Barnes and Noble, they had 8 copies when I stopped there. At first I didn't realize that they had broken street date, but then I checked on DVD planet and was surprised that it came out on the 18th

A couple of things.... dvdplanet has this for $25.96, and they charge $2.50 for shipping. This movie does have a plot. I could explain it to you, but that seems kind of silly, and i dont want to waste the time. And lastly, there is no commentary track by Hunter S. Thompson - there is an audio interview on there, i'm not sure how long it is, but it isnt as long as the entire movie and it doesnt feature him commenting on the movie as it plays. Cheers.
