That looks AMAZING. I never bought revisited, so if the dvd is the original release + revisited, with or without any new features, I will sure as hell buy this one, if not just for the look!

Prolly should be in this thread

but i think the cover-art is really cool. I love the poster, but i'm glad their going for the Comic book poster one, with a gray Matrix code background instead of just green and black. I'll be buyin' it definalty cause i don't have revisited, and the copy i own isn't even mine, it's my friend that didn't want it anymore.

It looks alot like the super-bit version. I'm begining to hate special editions especially since I bought the first one. The new T2 DVD set has pissed me off and this isn't doing any favours. There was nothing wrong with the first set. It'll be ok if this is the movie and revisted. Can't wait for Reloaded!

Looks rather cool, I think I'll pick this one up.

Looks A LOT like Superbit. I don't like it. I won't buy this, anyway. IMO, the only reason to buy this is to have a decent case for your copy of The Matrix.

Sheesh, just release the sequels. I am tired of seeing the original being regurgitated in so many ways.

So far I've seen the original first release, re-visited on its own, both together in a nice fold out case (which I have) and also this one.
I don't know if this is the same as another one, but there was yet another release with special artwork and stuff.

I got my MATRIX DVD free a few years ago and since I never bought REVISITED I will probably be picking this one up.

one question,....does this have a commentary by Wachowski Bros or not,...if it dosn't,......shove it,....they aim these re-releases at completists,....sad bastards who will buy whatever version of their favourite movie comes out on dvd,....to these people i say,.. go on fucking buy it,..make Warner even richer,.or whoever,.......The Matrix is one of the best movies,..EVER,... and i thought that they had stopped the trend of re-releasing the title,...just for the sake of it,...until Revisited came out,..and i fell out with them,.....money ,...who fucking needs it,............?,...anyway as i said,..unless it has a commentary i won't be buying...................d:(

I don't think it does have a commentary by the Wachowsky's, too bad.

It's a good thing they went with the simple "The Matrix: Special Edition" title, instead of trying out a different title and coming up with something ridiculous, like any of the below:

The Matrix: Redownloaded Edition
The Matrix 1.7430
The Matrix: Bullet Time Edition
The Matrix: Tricked Out Edition
The Matrix: "Wake Up" (and listen to Rage Against the Machine) Edition
The Matrix: Chosen One Edition
The Matrix: Superbit
The Matrix: Prepare for the Sequels Edition
The Matrix: Follow the White Rabbit to find tons of extras that you didn't get the first time around, meaning you have to spend more money!! Edition

Well, if you want a copy of it and don't want to shell out the bucks for the special edition, you need to buy the original release now (if you still can).

I was trying to get it as a birthday present this weekend, and our Walmart had just pulled it from the shelves. It is also pretty scarce on-line. So, bottom line is, if you don't already have it, you have to bend over and take it up the ass for the special edition. I hate not having the choice.

It may have just been a fluke here as well. I was only able to find it available new on Amazon.com though. Buy.com had it only available on back order and it didn't come up anywhere else either.

Unfortunately, the special eddition has no extra stuff that we have not seen. Who would want to see how they created the innovative visuals and camera tricks spoiled? I remember when watching the Entertainment Channel three years ago, they showed exactly how the Wachowski Brothers do the innovative 360% spin shot and some CGI.

A special edition should have more than just trailers, pictures, behind the scenes. Oh lets not foreget: Director Commentary's. I hate these things. Most people can't enjoy the movie when the Director Comentary is playing. That's for the most hardcore fans who want to hear what the directors interpretation was, (it is nice to figure things out and not be told everything) also for people confused with something in the film, and need to look up what is explained.

I have been waiting for years for a special edition to arrive, mainly because I don't like how The Matrix Cover has that other box way of opening it, without the plastic seal. You have to pop open that black strip to open the DVD, and it messes up my collection because now I have a fucking DVD sticking out. I would buy Good Fellas and about fifty more DVD's, but for some annoying reason, the people in charge 10/100 times like to give us the black strip open-version of the DVD container box. I wish The Wachowski Brothers had that done originally.

Just about all the stuff on Matrix Revisited has been known for years. They completed the movie and needed not to add or subtract more. This version is good for people who never bought the Matrix on DVD before, or for the most hardcore fans. But I hate spoilers. A director should never give a way how he pulls off a camera trick. It is like a magician telling you the secret behind his magic trick. It ruins the magic. The spoilers are what mostly exist on the other version, and although it looks nice ... it is what's in the box that matters, not the box itself.

Well I was going to get it, but now that you say that, I already have the original, should I just get Revisted? I got X-Men 1.5, Is there an SE coming out with the original and that too. It doesnt matter, cause I have both of that. But is revisted worth buying or renting.

That cover art rocks! The DVD should rock as well! I'm probably going to purchase this one - and it is rarely that I buy a DVD that would be so expensive...

Here's hoping they release it in NZ!!

Good. Otherwise it'd be a waste of time and resources for Warner Bros

Noooooo! I wanted to buy it! I think that sucks, and I am probably the only one. But right now you can get The Matrix for the price of one DVD, and The Matrix Revisited for the price of one DVD, and this was going to be both of them together for not much more than a normal DVD plus a cool case.
