I just can't get over how much Daniel has improved from The Philosopher's Stone to The Chamber of Secrets. He was GREAT in The Chamber of Secrets and deserves some kind of award IMO. He's just so perfectly Harry Potter and so professional for his age group. The way he does Parseltounge rocks the house down. I just think Daniel is a really underrated actor! He's one of my favourites and definitely my idol as an actor.

I'm not sure how overrated or underrated he actually is. He's only been in a few movies, most of which were Harry Potter. Personally, I didn't find him that interesting in either movie, so I don't think he deserves some kind of special award

Most child actors annoys the hell out of me. I'm indifferent to Daniel, he hasn't been in many movies so I really can't decide, but I really didn't think he was THAT special in any of the Harry Potter movies.

He hasn't really impressed me. I thought he was rather bad in Sorcerer's Stone, and just pushing Decent in Chamber of Secrets.

That's what I think too. Plus, he looks like a 28-year old accountant :D

That's what I've been saying. Although I think he looks more like a 28 year old lawyer than accountant :D
He's been in two movies, and played the same character in both. I can't really say I've been ultra-impressed by his range so far.

I think Radcliffe, Grint and Watson are all really bland in what they do. None have impressed me so far. The supporting is stellar, but the three Harry Potter leads fail to reach me.

Wow I thought you guys would've enjoyed the performances of the three leads. I just saw Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets again and I love it just as much.
The three leads bland? I think they bring their characters to life in a great and memorable fashion.
Emma Watson is perfect as Hermione, she's funny and adorable, and plays her knowledgable scenes with awesome talent. Probably going to be a big star.
How can you not enjoy Rupert Grint as Ron? He's absolutely hilarious and makes the character always enjoyable to watch. I think Grint was perfectly cast as the character, and its hard to think of any other actor who could pull it off as well as he does.
And Daniel Radcliffe I think is a great Harry Potter - he's exactly how I pictured him and puts a lot of depth into the part. And I just LOVE the way he does Parseltounge in the second film. I can't get over how cool that is. I wish I could speak it! :)

I think Daniel looks like a Harry Potter but doesn't act well at all. I did think Harry Potter 2 was a good movie though, even if it isn't my type of movie...

Once DH1989 comes to this topic, he'll rush to the rescue of his favorite actor, so you'll have technical backup. Whereas I think Raidcliff and Watson are fairly bland, Grint is absolutely grating. His two acting modes, acting like an idiot and acting like a bigger idiot don't qualify him as an actor in my books. And BTW, Raidcliff was also in The Tailer of Panama, so Potter isn't his only experience

Watson was absolutely miserable in Sorcerer's Stone, and while she seemed more comfortable in the role during Chamber of Secrets, she never falls into it completely. To me, it feels like Emma Watson pretending she's Hermione.

Once again, little Annie spoke the truth to the dot. Agreed all the way.

it's two in the morning here in the UK, I'm bored and tired... and just came across this strange pic. Excuse my lack of motivation to add to the discussion :o

That little Rupert Grint has two modes of acting: Scared and embarassed.
Emma Watson is cute, and has a knack for acting like a brat. Hollywood will love this girl when she hits puberty.
And if Corey Feldman and Jennifer love Hewitt had a child, it would be Daniel Radcliffe....
When it's said and done, De Niro has more talent in the mole on his cheek than these three little noobs have all together.

I think Radcliffe has improved very much since his last appearance in "Philosphers stone". You can see the dramatic improvement and confidence he has in this film. And Rupert Grint is a good supporting actor next to him, and you could actually tell how he felt in situations. Though he was scared nearly the whole way through the second film. And Emma Watson is steadily progressing in acting.

I thought Emma Watson was better in Philosopher's Stone. She's still good in CoS but some scenes are just a little too overacted for me...

I wonder if he's a fudgepacker along the lines of Haley Joel Osment?

Wow, do you really have to make perverted comments on every one of your posts on this board?

You are forgettting that the kids were directed by Columbus. He is not a particularly good director of actors. The adults were all great, experienced actors. They don't need so much guidance.
Alfonso Cuaron is really good with actors. I will wait for HP3 before I make up my mind.

I like him. He did improve his acting since the first movie and I hope he continues growing as an actor. He does a very decent Potter.

It just seems like yesterday that Daniel was that sweet boy dawning the main role of Harry. And that was just 2001 were talking about. I just rewatched HP on ABC for these supposed extras and yes scences of the upcoming Azkaban. Daniel and the other 2 actors DAMN have grown up.... I do hope Daniel seeks out projects outside to further his career...
Nothing special so far, but he may be a late bloomer. He has the look, but not a great deal of talent to me. Not enough to give him a nay yet, but he only gets a mild yay.
