There's one in every home, office and campus: the practical joker. I enjoy hearing about practical jokes on set (and during long shoots, a few always come out of the woodwork), and you all must have heard of some, too. Please feel free to add your own, and we'll take a vote at the end. Mine are:
First Runner-Up: Mel Gibson. A notorious prankster, during the "Forever Young" shoot he appeared at the nurse's (Jamie Lee Curtis) kitchen door wearing a Michael Myers mask and holding a kitchen knife. She wasn't impressed. During the filming of "Signs" he locked co-star Joaquin Phoenix in a closet for 3 hours while the rest of the cast & crew went to lunch.
My Winner: Freddie Prinze Jr. During the "Girls and Boys" shoot he scared the life out of co-star Claire Forlani by sneaking into her apartment late at night wielding a butcher's knife. He once snuck some meat into a cake baked for friend Julia Stiles (she's a strict vegetarian). But the worst has to be when he knew Matthew Lillard was going to be away from shooting "Scooby-Doo" for a day or two, so he used the toilet in Lillard's trailer (after coffee and a bran muffin), didn't flush, left the top open and turned the heating on to full. When Lillard returned to the set, the stench in his trailer was unbearable.
Wot a BASTARD, eh? Anyone else have any other nominations??
