Hey, does anybody here know a reputable place where I could get this DVD. I looked everywhere [ Amazon, futureshop, etc... ] but I can't find it, and when I do, it seems like it's out of stock.

It's currently OOP - I would love to get a copy of this film too, but I saw one recently on ebay selling for $150.00. :(

Yeah see, that's what I mean. I've seen people selling this movie up to 275$. I wanna see it, but not that bad.
So, uh... what are the chances of it comming back into production? :/

They Live just came out here in Finland. It has a commentary track(Carpenter and Roddy Piper) and a short making of. It was pretty cheap too. So if you have a multiregion player, you might want to try getting the R2 disc.

It's a pity that I only buy R1 DVDs (even though I live in a R2 Country), otherwise I would try to get this.

Yeah, but they're all R2 - except for a ludicrously priced R1 one! :(

Just after Christmas, not even a month ago, I found a sealed R1 copy of They Live at a Media Play in the horror section. I didnt think much of it until I found out it was OOP lol. When I went back it was gone

They Live is for sale in most HMV's , Virgin and Our Price stores all over the UK . I picked up a copy in Glasgow last week for £8.99 .
As usual with Carpenter the commentary is worth the price alone .

Aye, but that's the Region 2 version. They're looking for a Region 1 version.

When I was visiting Guam, I was lucky enough to find a second-hand Region 1 copy for $9.95.
I would suggest Amazon Z-shops or Ebay. Might get a little expensive, though. Or not, depending on your luck.

Excuse me if this is a silly question but..........why don't you all buy a multi region player . Either that or get your player converted .
There's no difference in price , in fact most multi region players are cheaper . It's the only sure fire way to get the films you want from anywhere in the world .

Yeah it is a silly question ;) I have a PS2 which is capable of playing Region 2 DVDs, but I refuse to buy them as I get them much cheaper by importing them from the USA. Also way back when DVDs first came out, the movie was split over both sides on Region 2, but only on one side in R1 - doesn't work like that these days, but it still pissed me off enough to vow never to buy a R2 DVD again.

Okay, I know this is stupid but, whats the difference between Region 1 and Region 2 and also Region 1 DVD's and Region 2 DVD's?

I've nicked all this info off a region page for you:
DVD region codes is a provision in the DVD Specification that requires DVD players to be hard-coded to accept DVDs that is only meant to be played within one of six designated world regions. A Code 1 disc cannot be played in a Code 3 DVD player for example. This technique was developed to enable Hollywood companies to release movies at different times in different regions.
DVD regions are defined as:
Region 1 - 1: U.S., Canada, U.S. Territories
Region 2 - Japan, Europe, South Africa, and Middle East (including Egypt)
Region 3 - Southeast Asia and East Asia (including Hong Kong)
Region 4 - Australia, New Zealand, Pacific Islands, Central America, Mexico, South America, and the Caribbean
Region 5 - 5: Eastern Europe (Former Soviet Union), Indian subcontinent, Africa, North Korea, and Mongolia
Region 6 - Peoples Republic of China
Region 7 - Reserved
Region 8 - Special international venues (airplanes, cruise ships, etc.)

Some Region 1 DVDs have more special features than their Region 2 Counterparts (and sometimes vice versa). DVD Magazines widely available from newsagents are great in providing this kind of information.
