Just rented them last night and watched them...

Halloween 2:

Let me start off by saying I love all Halloween movies that I have seen so far, especially the first one. Great series! So, when I rented this, I was expecting a great movie. It was alright.

Of course, I liked it because Pleasence ( sp ) great acting. He is very bealivable. He really puts the atmosphere to another level because it seems like he has been through this in real life.

Curtis, was she supposed to act in this movie? She really didn't move ( literally ). She barely spoke, and I thought was very fake compared to H1. The way she crawled on the floor and ran was rediculously fake. It seems as she was high off of something at the time of fliming.

Now, Mr. Myers. Mixed feelings. Of course, he is still the badass that he is, unstoppable. However, he didn't seem the stalker he was in the first film. The spooky, Mr . M. In this film, he seemed like a slasher. His mask was stupid, I don't know what happened to the original one. He didn't do any of this neat stalk scenes ( ex: Curtis and her friend walking, she seems him by bush, etc. ). Now, there was 1 stalking scene, which was in the hospital. But it didn't have the same effect.

THe movie was weird too. It relaly didn't have any point, except to reveal that she is related to Myers ( sister ). The whole movie was based in a hospital....it gets boring after awhile. The atmosphere was kind of bland, too.

Overall, a 6/10. Maybe that's why everyone, including me, thought 4 should be the real sequel to 1.

Evil Dead 2:

A pretty entertaining film. Plot was bad, but the effects were pretty good. Bloody film, however it was amost a comedy. Ash was a very, very good actor, I liked him a lot.

overall, a 8/10.

Halloween 2 - 7/10 "I thought it was better than the original, and in my opinion, the best of the series."

Evil Dead 2 - 3/10 "Goddamned boring piece of crap, IMHO. It felt like Raimi was making it up as went along."

Halloween 2 - I didn't enjoy this one as much as the original, but had a few decent death scenes, coupled with the fine acting of the late, great Donald Pleasence (7/10).

Evil Dead 2 - Even though the continuity between this and the first one is fluffed, this film is just great - OTT acting, barrel-loads of blood and that lovely hand-posession scene..... (8/10).

Wow I finally see that someone actually enjoyed Halloween 3. 3 is one of my guilty pleasures

Halloween 2--It antied up the gore and left some of the suspense out that the first one possessed. I agree that there is less stalking in this one except for the scene where Michael is standing in the room full of babies staring at the nurse as she is getting chewed out for being late to work. Part 2 has some of my favorite death scenes so it holds something a little special to me. It also featured the second best mask in the series behind 1. The rest just got worse from there

Evil Dead 2--A very stylish follow up to the original but some of the characters were unappealing besides Bruce of course. I love how it starts with a bang and never lets up. I still prefer the original though for its creepy low budget feel and just the pure ferocious feel it has on you upon your first viewing. All three Evil Deads are all entertaining. Who would of thought Raimi would have gone on to become a director of a movie that is in the top five highest grossing films of all time.

"Halloween II" - Like I've said before, if ever a movie didn't need a sequel ... Sadly, "Halloween II" goes the "gore way," following in the footsteps of all the other slashers that rode its predecessor's coat tails, a decision the suits may have figured would appeal to the lowest common denominator, but one that also ended up cheapening the movie. On the other hand, I like the fluid camerawork and editing, which lends to the impression that you're watching separate events occuring simultaneously. It doesn't live up to the original, but it boasts a surreal, almost random quality, and it's the only Mikey sequel I come back to. 6.5/10

"Evil Dead 2" - Those numbed by the hyperkinetic MTV style of filmmaking so prevelent today may not understand what an utterly novel viewing experience "Evil Dead 2" was when it was first released. It just didn't seem to let up for a second, and there was simply no telling what was going to happen next. Mixing Three Stooges-style slapstick and bizarre sound effects with literal fountains of blood kept us even more off-balance. "Evil Dead 2" was easily one of the most entertaining times I've ever had in a theater. 8/10

Halloween 2 - 8/10

This one didnt get going till halfway through it but I like it for the most part. The gore factor doesnt bother me. Some of the kills while off screen had some nice payoffs as the bodies were found. (its all about the needle in the eye!) I thought there was some over long moments, ie the security guard checking things out. But I cant ignore the final 20 minutes, its right up there with all of part 1 and for that alone I give it a good rating.

Evil Dead 2 - 6/10

I like this movie but it is a dissapointment on some levels. To me it seemed like a retread of the first one minus the scary and creepiness. The blood was no longer red in this movie which also doesnt help the "horroh" side for me. There is some seriously great camera work in this. Bruce became a legend in this one. One thing i didnt like was bringing in new people halfway through the flick. you go from moment after moment of Ash vs the Evil all alone...over and over...then you are dropped to an airplane with new people and rather dull ones at that. To me ED1 is a masterpiece, part 2 couldnt live up to that...

Halloween, like EVERY Halloween movie except the original, sucks.

Evil Dead II, on the other hand, is one of the funniest movies of all time. If you want to enjoy it, don't approach it as a horror movie.
