ok so... i havent seen any of the ring movies but sum1 needs 2 xplain!

dosnt it go summit like...

ring was a japonese movie..
got remade as an american movie called THE ring
they have now re-made THE ring.

i saw the trailer for THE ring in my cinema last week but i live in england so i dunno wats wot. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Here's the history or the Ring series:

RINGU (1998) (Jap) - Original Japanese film, known as RING in the UK & US.

RASEN / THE SPIRAL (1998) (Jap) - Original sequel to RINGU, not very popular and heavily criticised.

RINGU 2 (1998) (Jap) - RASEN was ignored and this was made as an alternative sequel to RINGU. This is seen by most as the true sequel.

THE RING VIRUS (1999) (Jap) - This was a South Korean remake of RINGU. Again, this isn't exactly loved by critics.

RINGU O: BAASUDEI (2000) (Jap) - Known in the UK and US as RING O: BIRTHDAY. This is a prequel to RINGU, set 20 year before.

THE RING (2002) (US) - This is the Dreamworks remake of RINGU that you saw the trailer for.

These are all the Ring films, but the main ones that most people talk about are:

Yeah, the trailer you saw was for the American remake, which hits UK cinemas on February 21st, all of a week and a half before America gets the DVDs of both the original (already out on Tartan DVD over here) and the remake!

Ringu - The original... excellent horror film.

Raisen - Alternate future where many people are being killed by a strange virus, and eventually we get into a secret organization with a supercomputer that simulates the entire world... for a better description I'd shoot on over to Ringworld.

scullys order is correct in order of when they were made, but yes ring 0 is a prequel to ring.

I've gotta say, I actually liked Ringu O better than Ringu 2.

And I maintain that Rasen was made before Ringu 2.

Rasen WAS made before Ringu 2 - in fact it was made about the same time with Ringu and if I am not mistaken it was released at the same time (one reason for the flop).

You are correct... Rasen was made very close to Ringu, pretty much at the same time.
