Always a little sad to see this happen. Obviously not a major thing at all, commonplace in Hollywood, but I'm sort of an anti-drug person, and it depresses me a little. Oh, well, people have to do what makes them happy. On the other hand, anything to get rid of those damned annoying Dell commercials (uck).

From Yahoo!News (http://www.yahoo.com):

'Dell Dude' Arrested on Drug Charge

Dude, yer gettin' busted!

The actor who gained fame and a cult following as the slacker "Steven" in commercials for Dell computers was arrested buying (news - external web site) a small bag of marijuana, police said.

Benjamin Curtis, a 22-year-old New York University drama student, was arraigned Monday on a misdemeanor drug possession charge. The charge assumes a suspect is not carrying more than a "use amount" — enough to roll several marijuana cigarettes.

Police said he was arrested Sunday night on the Lower East Side after officers on a drug detail spotted him buying a small bag of marijuana from Omar Mendez, 19. Mendez faces drug sale and possession charges.

Curtis' portrayal of a surfer type who proclaims, "Dude, yer gettin' a Dell!" drove up computer sales and spawned T-shirts, caps, and backpacks, along with Web sites and online fan clubs.

At the arraignment, Criminal Court Judge Ellen Coin advised Curtis that his case will be dismissed, and his record expunged, if he avoids arrest during the next year.

Asked if he understood, Curtis said, "Yes, ma'am."

Outside court, Curtis' lawyer, James Moschella, said: "We are confident that at the appropriate time, the charges will be dismissed."

No wonder he was always so happy in those commercials.

But I thought this was serious at first. Marijuana charges are nothing these days. Now if it was harder, Charlie Sheen-type materials, then he'd be screwed

What's hilarious is you can just make a call and have some delivered. Buying it on the street just shows how dumb he is.

The first time I got busted for pot, I made sure not to tell my parents, cuz I knew they would be pissed. I guess the Dell guy doesnt have that luxury since its all over the fucking news. Whats wrong with this world when I log onto cnn.com and the top story is Saddam's latest shenanigans and the second lead story is about a 22 year old getting busted for pot. Sucks to be him, haha

A big oopsy on Curtis' part, indeed. I'm still chuckling at Leno's joke the other night: "Dude, you're gettin' a cell!"
