I got X-Men 1.5 a couple of weeks ago. Yeah it is a good movie; the dvd does look terrific and sound wonderful but that second disc was just so boring and useless. There was nothing at all interesting on that disc, just the cast members saying how a wonderful xperience it was to be on a movie like this and that none of them knew much about the X-Men before the recieved the role.
I say if you have the first X-Men dvd release, keep it. There's no need to buy this version.

Thanks for the info. I was pissed when I heard that there was another version coming out. I'm glad that I won't need to waste my money getting it.

I think it's quite good! I've got both versions (UK and 1.5 region 1) and I do think the 1.5 version is better.
I am gutted though as most of the website are saying that there is commentary from Patrick Stewert and hugh Jackman yet there isn't.
Has anyone found any easter eggs on the discs?
Nice packaging aswel.

I own the original, but, DTS...I didn't buy a new receiver and speaker setup so i can not use it. Even if this new version had no new features and it only added a dts track i would be fine with it

It's fine, but I will never touch the second disc again unless I broke a DVD case and need a place to put the DVD.

I recommend getting it. I got a free DVD with it, a free ticket to Daredevil and a free ticket to X2.
Also there was a bunch of certificates to Best Buy. Like: 2 or 3 dollars off this, 5 off that.

Most web sites are advertising the Commentary by Bryan Singer, Patrick Stuart, Ian McKellan, and Hugh Jackman that are on this dvd. I can only get one from Bryan Singer. Anyone else found this false advertising?!
Or is it an easter egg?
Any one know more about this?

The only commentary for the movie itself is the one with Bryan Singer and his gay lover. There are a lot of interviews with the other cast members on the second disk but that's it.
I was really pissed off about that commentary, not becuz it was boring and lacked any info but becuz Singer brought his gay lover to talk on it instead of Tom Desanto. Tom is all over disk 2 with his mini DV camera but he should have been involved in the commentary to bring the fanboy element to it. In all fairness Singers "friend", Brian Peck, did have some knowledge of what it was like making the movie (pillow talk I guess) and he even had a cameo in the movie as the guy that buys a hot dog from Stan Lee. Now that's what I call a metaphor!
Anyway, I liked disk 2 and thought it had a lot to offer from showing Hugh Jackman and Tyler Mane praticing their fight scene to the many world premiers that everyone went to.
Also, don't forget the shots of Rebecca Romein (I refuse to acknowledge STAMOOOSSSS!!!!!) as Mystique, bare-ass naked running to help Magneto off the ground. Watch it jiggle.:)

Thanks for reminding me, you just gave me a reason to touch that disc again.

I've not watched this movie yet on 1.5 but is it the same as the region 2 version with the deleted scenes?
If so, they should clear up the crap and make the film proper extended rather than having them being accessed. That's one big downfall i think.
I would've thought that having this disc reissued so soon, it would've been a lot better, with loads more on disc one.
BTW has anyone seen the new trailer of X2 just before Daredevil on the big screen? What an excellent trailer! Looks so much better than what theyve done before!

Nah, this is pretty much the same movie. Those deleted scenes didn't change and they have the same setup where you can branch them or not. The big difference is that they included more stuff that you can branch in that is more behind-the-scenes type of stuff with some of it being okay or boring and with some of it being pretty damn interesting. You can tell they even filmed scenes that they didn't even include in the deleted scenes material like Magneto really yelling at Sen Kelly.
Bryan Singer had planned to film scenes when everyone gathered for prin. photog. on X2 and even had the old costumes brought in but for some reason (not explained) they decided not to do it. I'm talking scenes that were supposed to be filmed for X1 and never were for budget/time constraints. I have no idea which scenes but I got the impression they were more character development type scenes.
Go here for a good review of the disk:

They also have a good interview with Singer here:

Also, yes that X2 trailer in front of DD rocked the hizhouse. Can't wait til it's out in quicktime.
