Alright apparently the Batman: Year One project has been all but shut down. And now Nolan has taken over and is doing another Batman script called......Batman: The Frightening and Guy Pearce will most likely be Batman.

What they need to do is end the the fanchise. Tim Burton created the world so damn well. Joel Shumacher did a good job on the movies he directed. The producers wanted to make the franchise more comic-booky. In that light, they succeeded.
They need to do one more Batman movie. That needs to be it. And they need to stay close to the comics and Burton's tone. Needs to be dark, emotional and tradgic. They need to adapt "Batman: No Man's Land." Greg Rucka and all the writers who worked on that series were at the top of their form. It's the best Batman series ever.
What they need is a good script. The director won't matter if they have a killer script. Michael Keaton was the best BRUCE WAYNE, Val Kilmer was the perfect BATMAN. It's two completely different characters being played by one actor. Read any of the newer Batman stuff, Bruce Wayne and Batman are NEVER in the same room together. Impossible.
I like William Petersen (CSI) as Bruce/Batman. Color his hair dark and give him the mask.
"No Man's Land" has the emotion and the action to be a GREAT movie. Read it sometime. Tell me you don't emotional at the end.

i think another batman is unneccessary. theres only been one good batman film and that was the first one. the other 3.....really really really did not do it for me.
if they can get the franchise back on track, fine do one more. but somehow, after the 3 sequels, my hopes arent high...

I'm hoping this happens. Nolan is a very good director and he knows how to make a stylized, atmospheric movie and direct actors. We can trust him to pick a good Batman and The Scarecrow is an excellent idea for a villian, although I would rather see Clayface. I would rather there not be two villians again like in the last two. That would be too formulaic.

After seeing Insomnia, I think Nolan is the perfect director for the next Batman movie.

I read No Man's Land last summer and it is a great novel. The only problem is that they would have to cut a lot of the material out b/c it was so in depth, plus setting up the back story of Oracle, Huntress, the new Robin, etc.
As I was reading it, I could just imagine it being on the big screen.

I agree. Except the "Joel Schumacher did a good job" part. Admittedly, Batman forever is my favorite, next to the first one, but He completely missed the mark with Batman and Robin. That one goes on my"worst movies ever" list. Bad flick. They should just leave the dark knight alone.

I love Nolan and I think he would do a great dark 'n gritty "Batman" (ala Burton), and I like the idea of Guy Pearce in the lead. But Batman: The Frightening is the dumbest title ever.
