This is an interesting little story from the bubbly IMDb. Apparently, Russell Crowe's fiancée has asked his ex to attend the nuptuals. Do you think that after their brief, torrid relationship, Meg and Russell are still friends, and that she'll go to the wedding if this story is true? I have my doubts.

Spencer Puts Ryan on the Guest List

Russell Crowe's bride-to-be Danielle Spencer has offered the hand of friendship to his ex-love Meg Ryan and invited her to their wedding. The Australian stunner was delighted when A Beautiful Mind star Crowe proposed to her and promised to mend his hell-raising ways and inviting Meg shows the new found trust she has in her groom. But Sleepless In Seattle star Ryan, who was left brokenhearted when Crowe ended their passionate affair, has yet to accept the invitation. A source says, "Russell and Meg have remained friends since they parted and she's definitely invited. It's up to Meg whether she comes or not." The arrangements for the lavish ceremony have all be left to Spencer, as Crowe is determined that she will have the day of her dreams. He has also promised not to drink at all on the wedding day, except one glass of bubbly with the toast, and that the wedding can be hosted at his ranch. But like any bride the most crucial decision for Danielle is about what she will wear. The source continues, "She's eyeing a Vera Wang dress but thinks it might be too modern for Russell, so she has a traditional Valentino white wedding gown lined up too."

What fun is the wedding if you're not drinking. I know I was plastered at my wedding.

Russel, dont make a big mistake by being sober at your wedding. Get drunk and take Meg upstairs Sonny Corleone style.

I couldn't really blame her if she didn't attend the wedding. Who wants to go to a wedding of a guy you were madly in love with that dropped you like a bad habit?

I guess what goes around comes around, since that's what she did to Dennis Quaid. Hard to really feel sorry for her I guess.

I wouldn't go, if I were her. Not to be catty, but it couldn't be comfortable for Meg. Let Russell and his fiance have that day.

Russell didn't dump Meg, it was Meg who dumped Russell.

Apparently Russell was getting waaaaaay too serious for Meg, and this was putting pressure on Ryan. Now if you're a "reasonable" woman who just ended your 9 year marriage, do you think you're actually going to get involved in another long-term relationship right out of the gate?

No.

So when Russell started pushing things to go further in the relationship, Meg couldn't go through with it.

However they have remained friends, which is admirable and shows that they parted on mutually agreed terms..... doesn't mean it didn't suck for the two of them when it ended, but it shows that they both understood why it was the right thing to do.

I think Danielle Spencer is one very secure, and ballsy kinda gal to offer such an invite, and it says a lot about her faith and trust in her man. Most women don't want their boyfriends to have ANY contact with their ex-girlfriends, and this woman wants to invite her fiance's ex to their wedding!

Go Danny!

This is from a much bigger article in Closer magazine... guess that's a tabloid.. which was full of inaccuracies. But it mentioned inviting Meg and also that Danielle has insisted that Russ give up the booze.

In tabloid style, it's full of quotes from an unamed "friend"...

Faced with a choice between the bottle and his beloved fiancee, 38 year old Russell agreed to go on the wagon.

The friend said:

"Once Russell realised that Danielle meant what she said, he reluctantly agreed to stop drinking. He realises it will be a struggle at first - he's been drinking since he was a teenager - but he's vowed to stop."

And how's he going to do it? Sheer willpower apparently.

The friend said:

"At first Danielle demanded that Russell go to support groups and get some alcohol abuse counselling, but Russell insisted that he could kick the habit by himself. She agreed to try it Russell's way but he's on a tight leash. If he screws up just once, Danielle will be marching him straight to Alcoholics Anonymous."

If he's quitting drinking because she wants him to stop, it won't work.

And she's a bitch for demanding it. He should run away, very fast.
