OK, so there's this rumour going around the net that my sister caught off one of her mailinglists. It is rumoured that Twentieth Century Fox are considering a remake of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. It might be complete bullshit but anyways i'm saying it's arumour but just indulge me. So, then who would be in it? Obviously not the original cast. The main runour flying around: Marilyn Manson as Dr. Frank-N-Furter. Already a huge stretch but think about it, he could do well. Other casting runours? Jack Black as Eddie and Pink as Magenta.

The rumour is also that it will modernize it for a new generation. Probably complete bullshit but it would kinda be cool.

Why the hell would someone do that?

That seems like one of the worst ideas since the greenlighting of Willard...

Why mess with a good thing?

Marilyn Manson as Frank-N-Furter? No thanks. (and this is coming from someone who likes most of MM's stuff)

Not a great original movie, wouldn't be a good remake, especially with the above casting. why must they insist on remakes?

annie its very rare i disagree with u, but rocky horror is great! its OTT, funny, has catchy songs, and u can timewarp along....

however, much as i love it, i dont think anyone could replicate the original cast, so this should be shelved quicker than plans to release another batman film ( i still maintain, if they had just done one batman film, the world would be a much better place)

less remakes....more original movies!

NO NO NO NO NO.....this sounds horrible.
I love the original! A cast of unknowns with talent, just the way it should stay.

Im not a fan of Rocky Horror, the whole thing baffles me but I have to say No to a remake. Why remake movies? Writers don't rewrite books. Im well against remaking movies. They're all crap (the Get Carter remake for example). Rocky Horror is a classic. If you want to see it again watch the DVD or if you want a new expericence go and watch the stage show. A remake is a BAD idea, and I don't even like the movie.

I thought that it was a sequel (a proper sequel, not like Shock Treatment) rather than a remake. About Janet having a baby, not knowing if it belongs to Rocky or Frank. The possible titles were Frankie Pheonix, or Rocky Horror: The Second Coming. Last time i read about it, it was just a concept, though Richard O Brien was apprently writing the songs for it. *shrugs*

I couldn't care less if they remade of not. I loathe the original. So, I can't complain. Although it's money down the drain.

This is bad news.

The original is fine a remake is unjustified.
