I just rented TALES FROM THE HOOD.

I thought it was a pretty cool low budget anthology horror movie. The first story is called "Rogue Cop Revelation", it involves 3 white racist cops, but its pretty lame, and poorly written.
The second story "Boys Do Get Bruised",". About a new boy at a school shows up the first day with a bunch of bruises on his arm. His teacher begins to get very concerned about this. The boy tells the teacher he got the bruises from the "monster" that lives in his house.

In the third story, "KKK Comeuppance", a former Ku Klux Klansman turned politician moves into a mansion that was once the sight of a horrible slave massacre that occurred around the end of the Civil War. There is a lot of distrust towards him, because of his shady history. He is told by many of the protesters that a bunch of voodoo dolls, which are inhabited by the souls of the murdered slaves, are still on the mansion grounds. The politician shrugs all of this off as just local superstition, until his assistant (who might I add is black) dies mysteriously. Soon it becomes clear that the politician is not alone in his brand new house.

In the fourth story, "Hard Core Convert", a gangster is arrested and sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. Some years after being sent to prison, he's offered a chance to be released, if he agrees to be a participant in a brand new experiment. This is probably the best of 4 stories.

The movie also has a cool surprise ending i wont spoil it, if you havent seen it you should.

A fun and gory anthology. I saw this underrated flick years ago and loved it. 8/10.

An underrated, not known well enough, modern classic. This movie succeeds because it leaves me with an uneasy feeling at the end, it is dark, dismal, and not exactly uplifting, but what is about gang violence, addiction, murder, and hell.

If only some fucking idiot gangbangers could benefit from watching. But some of them are so stupid the only thing they would get out of it is "man, that soundtrak is dope!"

Wasn't really taken over by this film. I especially didn't like the story of the dolls coming to life and trying to kill the rascist white man. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I liked the story in this movie about the cops. Where those two white guys killed the black one and a year later I think it was he came back , killed both the white guys , and killed the other black guy who watched it and did nothing to help him out. That dead black dude creeped me out , no matter how fast you went , you couldn't get away from him.

I only really liked the 1st story, the other 3 were so blah it wasnt anything special. i'd give it a 5/10 because i like the 1st story alot, and the 2nd one was just as good.

I thought that the stories got worse as they went through them. The 1st was the best, then 2, 3, and the 4th was the worst, though I suppose it had the most significance as a message to urban black society...but I just wanna get scared when I watch a horror flick, not think of social reformation. Overall, I liked it.
