i am not talking about keifer, i am talking about river, jerry, wil and corey. one of the best movies of the 80s...and the actors are not around anymore, or not around enough. one died (river), one is somewhat out of the business (wil), one had a run in with drugs (corey) and one, well, WHERE THE HECK IS HE (jerry)? weird.....
any comments?

We all know that Corey Feldman lost it big time, file him with Corey Haim.
Hard to believe that Verne was played by the buff Jerry O Connell. Last I saw Wil Wheaton was years ago didnt he appear on Star Trek?

Wil Wheaton has retired from filmmaking... at least he doesn't seem do have any ambition to make films anymore (and who would cast him anyway;)). He seems to be quite happy with his weird website and is very laid-back concerning his status as the former "geek boy from STAR TREK" ... at least that's the impression I got from the interview with THE ONION (http://www.theonionavclub.com/avclub3843/avfeature_3843.html).
And Corey Feldman? Well...

River died in 1993, of a drug OD I think. I heard a supernatural story about two years involving his alleged ghost. Corey Feldman is the most-hated housemate on The Surreal Life.

Jesus, I'm a grown lady...but Wil Wheaton used to be fit as a butchers dog. Gawd, I fancied the little nipper in "Stand by Me"...but I WAS ONLY YOUNG myself...
He's definitely do-able, and look at those innocent eyes...

BCV, I can't believe it...there you go, proof positive that somebody out there actually fancied Ensign Wesley Crusher. Personally, as a long-standing Star Trek fan I wanted to push him feet-first through an industrial meat-grinder, but maybe that's just me...
Russ is OK, as long as you can keep up with him at the bar. The man's fond of several drinks a night, and it seems only his fiancee Danielle can keep him in check. (Still, he's cute as a muffin...I'd do him...)
Back on topic, the best actor in the "Stand By Me" cast was the late River Phoenix. If he hadn't died when he did, I predict he'd be at least as successful an actor as his brother, Joaquin.

Wil Weaton actually had a blink and you'll miss him cameo appearence in Star Trek: Nemesis. I missed him the first time I saw the movie but caught him the second time I saw it. He has no lines. He's in the beginning at Riker and Troi's wedding probably sitting next to mom Dr. Crusher.

no argument there. he would have been really good! and i would have liked to have seen him and joaquin in a movie together, or one of them having a cameo in the other's movie. that would have been cool!
It's so sad that the late River Phoenix was the only one of the Stand By Me quartet who displayed any real acting talent.
Of the remaining 3, I agree that Feldman became a has-been by the end of the '80's, as did Wheaton by the time ST: TNG left the airwaves. Likewise, the only watchable film O'Connell's been in is the routine yet entertaining Scream 2. I wonder, though, does he get any rerun money from Sliders(I thought that show was fun)?

Wil Weaton was the best member of the Stand By Me ensemble.
