I checked this flick out for the first time on the sci-fi channel last ngith and was pleased. I love the whole Michael Jckson zombie in the red leather jacket at the end spinning around when he was getting electrocuted. LoL . What did you guys think about this film?

I havent seen ROTLD 1 or 2 in along time. a few years in fact. i rented both when i was like 11, watched both and enjoyed them. I dont know where i can rent them now, and i dont know if i would enjoy them, i probably would. I'm not a picky person, but i'll shut up now.

The original is coming to DVD later this month. I can't find it anywhere in video stores either so I'll check out this DVD when it comes out because I remember seeing the movie on TV and it was good. Haven't seen the second one and only saw some of part 3.

I can't wait for the original Return of the Living Dead to come on dvd. That would be a good classic to have.

While it's the weakest of the series, I enjoy watching it. It's harmless, reasonably entertaining throughout, and has a few memorable lines. Sam Hain beat me to the screwdriver line, but I love the "Harry Truman" bit. Oh, yeah, and "Ed, is there something I should know." I also love the ROTLD 1 references.

I agree with Bullet part 2 really sucked. I like the fact they brought back the 2 guys from part one but beside that it was just boring zombie flick. Didn't even have that much gore and the jokes in this one were really lame. This being a sequel too one of my favorite zombie movies it was a real dissapointment. I'm also glad part 3 came out because it gave hope to the series. MINDY CLARK even looks good as a zombie.... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

I saw this on SciFi too and although not as good as the original, this one still is pretty creepy.

That little boy on that movie was funny lol and so was that old man with Thom Mathews

The moral of this story is to graphically show you what will happen to you if you give away your Spiderman comics for something as arbitrary as membership in a boys club.

^ Arrrow, I believe, posted a link to a petition to get this thing treatment.. that was a while ago.

I dont think there's anything on the horizon, but I dont keep up on that stuff.

Not a bad flick, but the snotty little lead made me see red. Not enough drunken next door neighbors (or BLOOD, for that matter.. fuck, was this billed in matinees, or something!?)

well that sucks, they should really put this out on DVD, there are plenty of movies that are far worse than this, for example this movie call Breeders, talk about trash.

Below is the link to the ROTLD 2 DVD Campaign:

This page was created by Michael Allred, the same guy who created the petition for the original film, and succeeded. Apparently, we've got at least a year to wait, but hey, at least it's coming.

Also, follow the links to see his petitions for other films, like John Carpenter and ROTLD 1 director Dan O'Bannon's DARK STAR, O'Bannon's THE RESURRECTION, and several other films.

ROTLD 2 was a pretty decent flick but I prefer the original. The kid is Michael Kentworthy and he also played in THE BLOB. What has he become ?

I didn't care for this movie at all. The original was a great movie that balanced horror and humor brilliantly, however this installment was just rediculous. Nothing was scary about this movie and it wasn't even really that funny either. This movie seems to be more of a parody of the first one than horror/comedy.

Part one is no doubt excellent , but in some ways i think part 2 is superior . I think it's funnier , it's set in multiple locations , the characters are better ( the ones in part were annoying for the most part ) , the little kid is cool , the effects are better , there's more action , and the ending is great .

I don't know part 2 gets ripped apart by fans of the original ( i think it's a bit overrated anyway ) , the sequel improved upon what the original started .

I found this one to be an entertaining film with some great humourous moments, cool effects, and some cool music. Although I don't find it as good as the original it's still a great entertaining film and yes this does deserve a dvd release and not just some bare bones dvd but a special edition one.

ROTLD2 isn't a bad "kiddie horror" flick, but in juxtaposition with the original, it falls short. It lacks a nihilistic edge. It's entertaining on its own, though. The raunchy vibe and the dour outlook are gone, but at least the gore is still there. Worst film in the series, yet it has the best cover art.

All three films have slobber-inducing covers, but I just dig ROTLD2's direct approach.

And yes, Jackson is in his "Thriller" get-up. I thought it was ridiculous myself.

This movie was good! but it was weird how the same 2 guys were on there that were from the 1st movie! But oh Well Thom Mathews is hott! So I dont really care if they put him on all 3 he still looks good and plays good in the movies!

I like this film: it's cheesy & the special effects are good. Sure it's not as good as the original, but there are only a few exceptions to that rule.

I'll be picking up the DVD if/when it's released as my video is starting to degrade very badly.

man i just got my vhs copy yesterday, i forgot how hillarious it really was. and i like the atmosphere of the whole town being empty, i thought that was kinda cool.

I cant wait to snag the dvd, whenever its released.

I still don't get why this film gets panned as much as it does . The thing is great , and it deserves a DVD . They went for pure laughs , just like in the original , and they succeeded , but it's also an excellent horror film with some genuinely tense moments , one of the best of the 80's .

One of the things I liked in this movie over the first was that this movie never really confines itself to just one isolated location. Basically the whole city is explored and the heros are always on the run.
